Kurupt didn't want to get embarrassed.

Yeah, Kurupt didn't want to get embarrassed, especially since everyone usually kills Em on the mic.

The spot got shook, it was hell below | Is that Futureshock ?? | Hell, no, it's Death Row !

dont' get me wrong, I don't mean that they hate each other
but isn't it strange that they both did only 1 single song together (Bitch Please 2) in 15 years?!?
even though they are both one of Dre's top proteges
and you barely see them together neither
just seems kind of strange to me

I think he also gave him a shoutout in another track

"We Just Don't Give A Fuck, he says "Don't say shit about Eminem or Snoop or Dre".

yeah, that's the song I meant
also
"It goes Reggie, Jay-Z, Tupac and Biggie
Andre from Outkast, Jada, Kurupt, Nas and them me"
Eminem - Till I Collapse

---------------------------------------

here is my theory
remember in 1998 when Dre and Snoop wanted to make a collabo album called "Break Up To Make Up" (they did the song "Zoom" for it)
I think Dre abandoned that project to fuck with Eminem
and that was the start of the small grudge of snoop against eminem

it is very similar to the tension between DPG and Outlawz when 2Pac came to Death Row
before that DPG was the top camp at DR and then 2Pac came and took their spot
something that they had for years just disappeared all of a sudden
and all DPG projects got delayed in favor of releasing 2Pac records

similar to the Eminem/Snoop situation in the late 90s
Snoop and Dre was hooking up again doing stuff
then Eminem came, blew the fuck up and took snoop's spot as the number 1 Dre protege

snoop always wanted that second Dre produced album
he wanted it in 1999, only got a few dre produced songs for his album
he wanted it in 2000, only got a few dre produced songs for his album
and the list goes on like that, he never got that second Dre album till this day

didnt snoop take little shots at eminem in some interview? anybody remember? somebody mentioned it long time ago, but i never seen the interview..
I remember in a dubcnn interview with snoop from like 2006 or so
he still wanted his Dre produced album and didn't really get it
and when the interviewer asked him about if he thinks he would have sounded good over early dre produced eminem beats
it seemed like he felt a little offended by that question
(maybe that's the interview you mean Fonkarround)

maybe dre offered snoop back then (1999/2000) to put eminem on his album and snoop declined
because he was worried about his gangsta image back then and thought fucking wit em wouldn't be a good mix (like bouli77 said)
(looking back that's kind of hillarious considering what people snoop does music with now)
eminem was disappointed that snoop didn't support him back then so he never wanted him on his album anymore after that
but that's all just speculation, we don't really know what's going on behind the scenes

btw, wth happended to the dubcnn interviews, some of them were pretty cool
the dubcnn interview game fell the fuck off

Kurupt was up there with the great lyricsts in the mid 90's....this would have been dope around '99 when Kurupt was still decent at least

I don't think the theory holds up too good, though. When Dre started working with Em, he only did a few records for him on the first album. A lot of them were holdovers from his EP that the Bass Brothers did. By comparative purposes, Dre produced as many songs for Em's album as he did for Snoop's second No Limit album. Just three.

After that, they actually gave a lot of that buzz to Snoop. When they did the VMA's where they wanted to bring "Chronic 2001" vibes in, they segued off an Eminem solo performance into a medley that closed out with Snoop joining Dre on stage for "G Thang". Snoop had the first single on "2001" and was more prominently featured. He was also a bigger part of Dre's "Up In Smoke" set and included as part of the ill-fated NWA reunion promotion. Snoop was never really pushed to the side.

Dre's involvement with Eminem got bigger with "Marshall Mathers LP" but even then he was doing records for "Last Meal" and they were making plans for "The Wash" movie and soundtrack together. Snoop to me just always seemed less a fan of Em. He kind of took some swipes at dude in interviews from time to time but it always seemed liked Em was cool with him.

Eminem is a huge hip-hop head. You don't think he listened to one of the most popular acts on the biggest hip-hop label of all time?

Sidebar: anyone remember back on the DPG forum when the mod was saying Daz signed to Shady Records and was releasing "The Black Phantom"? Lol. He even had this lame ass story about how they were in the studio and Daz played Em a beat and they each spit their favorite verse from each other over it. Now that I can't picture.

Yeah, Snoop kind of pulled his "hater" card too soon in that interview. The interviewer was making the point that both songs used the same Dido sample and Snoop had to make it sound like he never listens to Eminem at all when he is on the fucking VH1 special for the making of the MMLP describing songs off it and how he felt when he heard them.
