I thought "GKMC" was the best album last year and that's my opinion.

For me, I didn't buy many albums that came out during that Grammy eligibility period so I couldn't tell you what the contenders were.  I'd like to hear the opinions here because I thought Kendrick had an excellent project.  To call it "laughable" suggests to me that it's not even on the playing field with the best albums so I'd love to know which ones people consider at that level. Let's hear some top 5 albums from people.

good for him i guess, but nowadays these awards are little more than an industry circle-jerk.

I think the industry has always been the industry. Even when I was in love with some of the stuff that was coming out on major labels, there really wasn't this illusion that it was anything more. That's why all these Illuminati conspiracies about the industry make me laugh a little like things were so different in 1995.

The thing is record companies really only have one agenda - sell records. The industry executives know it's all prostitution.  It's the fans who fall in the love with the hookers. "Oh! The record labels are blackballing so and so because they are speaking the truth!".  If the truth sold twenty million records, they'd take it.  That's what's crazy about all this. They want the artists and producers who will give them #1 hits on the charts.

Kendrick surely deserves it, his album brought every genre together, gangsta rap fans listens to it, girls listens to it , it has great replay value..and have in mind that this is the grammys wich is mainly for artists signed on a major label, like it or not Kendrick is a mainstream artist not even categorized as a west coast mc, and to me its the album of the year the kid took his voice to the mainstream and now everybody is saying Bitch Don't Kill my vibe
