I could give a shit about Adele or whatever talent she does or doesn't have. The point is the songs were hits and thats why the album sold. If beyonce's album had Rumour Has It as the kick off single, Someone Like You as the main single when the album dropped, and Rolling the Deep as the single to re-ignite the album, AND was the soundtrack to a fiilm starring Beyonce it would have been almost as big as Bodyguard.

Songs sell records more than talent does. Yeah there's plenty of black females with more talent than Adele. There were plenty more when Madonna was huge, but hits are hits.

My favourite right now is Sharon Jones; but her style of songs will never transcend into the modern pop world for her to ever become a star. I'm ok with that. She's still better than Adele, or Bey, or CB.

Teena Marie is a great artist. One of the few white people who got soul. Also she gets a lot of respect from black musicians.
