i would prefer to hear 15 year's work detox that he think it wasnt good enough.

he just scared that it won't do an impact like chronic and 2001.

this compton album wont make an impact too, he just had to do more cash.

dre couldn't improve himself in late 10 years, nobody wants to hear another "still d.r.e." type of piano beat.

and dre quit inventing new sounds and changing the game.

this compton album will be an hip-hop album. thats all.

Dre is selling this shit like it's going to be another classic but I doubt it will. Dre usually takes forever to make albums and it seems he did this shit in a short span. You can expect a solid album but this isn't going to be near the level of Chronic or 2001.

i wouldn't be so quick to write this off man, Dre himself says it's bananas, clearly better than anything he came up with in the 'Detox' era and Quik used the words 'brilliant' and 'the future' of music to describe it.

the only thing that irks me is we'll never hear a lot of brilliant Detox tracks that don't fit this type of vibe - ie club bangers and concepts more in line with released Dre material in the 'Detox' period, only much better.

seems they were working on this for the best part of a year and we know of at least one track brought back from the 'Detox' sessions. way more than long enough. if anything, a long time in production is a bad thing, Quik made classic albums in less than a month. it's good to be focused and capture an energy of a certain period than shit drag on and on with endless tweaks and changes, just shows there was no clear direction in the first place (Detox).

dre himself says it's bananas because he has to sell it dude, what would you expect him to say? yeah quik said brilliant, xzibit said its best, snoop said its legendizzle bla bla bla. i heard same about many many wack albums. its promotion. if this movie didn't come up dre wouldnt release any album because it became a myth and everybody was expecting it to make an impact like chronic and 2001. but now dre has a reason to release an album, not to change the game and raise the level, he had to make a soundtrack for the movie, thats all. he has no weight on his shoulders.

wish it will be bananas. we will see
