AxleFohley: I mean.. there was a time
AxleFohley: when they where young
AxleFohley: now its almost time for em all to retire
AxleFohley: when you think about it
DeezNuuuuuuuuts: but its not cause hes gettin old

AxleFohley: well
AxleFohley: if you ask me
AxleFohley: and Im a quik fan
AxleFohley: if thats the reason

DeezNuuuuuuuuts: Ax
AxleFohley: but Ive always thought he was a bit too sensitive when it comes to the music game
DeezNuuuuuuuuts: I feel him
DeezNuuuuuuuuts: because
AxleFohley: (go head)
DeezNuuuuuuuuts: feel it, he's in for the luv of the music while others are in only for the monay and they hav success, all these mainstream rappers
DeezNuuuuuuuuts: and i totally feel him that he's pissed
AxleFohley: Im just like this.. you cant blame record sales.. you cant blame bootleggers.. you gotta elevate.
AxleFohley: I feel him too
AxleFohley: but you can never
AxleFohley: mix the music business with the love for music
AxleFohley: too very different things
AxleFohley: his love for music
AxleFohley: is whats frustrating him
AxleFohley: with the music business
AxleFohley: thats not game
AxleFohley: hes mixing the biz with the love
AxleFohley: and thats his mistake
AxleFohley: IMO
AxleFohley: I love Quik
AxleFohley: but I strongly believe in not mixing these two things
DeezNuuuuuuuuts: well i guess you cant change that then hue?
AxleFohley: think about it Jay
AxleFohley: I feel you
AxleFohley: but you know Im right in a way
DeezNuuuuuuuuts: cause if youre in for the luv and only for the luv then you cant just change and be in for the money
DeezNuuuuuuuuts: yea..in a way
DeezNuuuuuuuuts: i feel ya
AxleFohley: exactly
AxleFohley: you said it perfectly
AxleFohley: if he was lovin it
AxleFohley: hed do it anyway
AxleFohley: but he says he loves it
AxleFohley: then gets pissed at the game
AxleFohley: thats not right
DeezNuuuuuuuuts: yea

Lately he's involved in a lot of projects, why is so pissed ?
Now he got "connections" with the east coast (talib kweli- rawkus) and luv from almost every west coast head.....from shade sheist to nate dogg to dre and truth hurts.
Now is the time for quik to jump on the next level of his career!

You said mixing the music with the biz is a mistake, well Like I said, he feels too unappreciated by the people and he's in for the luv and so he gets tired of it. Quik might be a little sensitive. Cause people like WarrenG, Suga Free, Jayo Felony, WC, Ras Kass just to name a few never bitch about it and they are in the same position as Quik. of course they are not on the same level like Quik, but you get the point. Well to make a long story short its very sad and messed up and it shows what todays Hip Hop has come to

Quik might have a chane a mind.  Dre or somebody will try and change his mind.  In any case this will fuel Quik to make a classic album...watch.

Damn. That's some bad news.

I see it this way: It all comes down to the label. He's on the wrong label. They ain't got good distribution, promotion & shit. Only Balance & Options is availible in this corner of the world, not any other Quik record. Maybe he coulda blown up if he had better distribution, maybe more cats would've heard of him, maybe he wouldn't be quitting now. I missed out on some serious shit 'cause of wack distribution of Quik's records. I still wouldn't know 'bout him unless he was on the Training Day soundtrack, on Put It On Me wth Dre. That record had worldwide distribution. After I heard Put It On Me, I searched the net for his songs, got info, etc. Fell in love instantly. I might not know shit about anything, but IMO if he was on a different label, he coulda been big.

Lets be honest you ask somebody in UK to name 10 rappers the average person wouls say sumit along these lines:
1) Dr Dre
2) Snoop Dogg
3)  Eminem
4) Nelly
5) Ja Rule
6)  2Pac
7) Biggie
8) Ice Cube
9) Jay Z
10) Nate Dogg

Quik is proberly so fed up of not being a worldwide recognised talent he has just decided to fuck it off like.  I admit I have only ever listened to about 2 quik songs and they where ok but not really the type of shit I would listen to.

Damn this is horrible news. I think Quik probably feels frustrated knowing he dropped one of the best albums of the year and it hasn't sold too well. IMO Quik is still the shit and he shouldn't retire.

ROTR is wack as fuck and this is my opinion so what the fuck u want from me ? Shut up and respect other opinions!  :P

wtf U typing?
ROTR was dope as fuck, you just trying to piss Antonio off.
Wack beats? Damn near all of the beats on ROTR was of Dre jr. quality.
The lyrics was average, but some dope guest-spots made for a very dope album.
I like it much better than UTI, and I had both in rotation for weeks.

I bet Dre will snatch Quik up some time, and make him Dre jr. or his 2nd right hand, next to Mel Man.

Dre
Mel Man
Quik
Eminem
Elizondo
Storch ??

Not a bad producer lineup..

As a fan this makes me sad since ive never seen my fav artist live. It makes me sad also since I am seriously a REAL fan. I just wish I could see him live. From what ive heard theres nothin like seeing your fav artist live and sadly i might not ever experience this.

BUT as a person I respect his dessicion. You guys are pretty selfish if your mad at him if hes retiring for his kids. hes been makin music for years. Ill always have his cds to listen to whenever I want. And he is making the right dessicion for himself. Respect that.

ROTR was not as good as "I Want It All" or "Regulate."  Just didn't feel it as much.

This hurts alot man. This will fuck up west coast hip-hop big time and anyone that don't agree is out of their mind. The sad thing about it is he hasn't ever even fallen off. He's always came with the dopest shit and still got no pros out of it.

Like everyone else was sayin, you can't get mad at him for wanting to quit. Only a select few (us) even give a shit about whether he retires or not. Its a fuckin shame  >:(

Oh and how the fuck could you call ROTR wack? Are you insane?
