damn, no more DJ Quik, this is the saddest day ever in West Coast music,
DJ Quik is my all time favorite producer(yes even over Dr.Dre)
his music is smooth and p funked out that he's one of a kind.

He should at least drop one more for the doubters, I hope he still produces and does guest appearances and all but damn Quik u are definitely going to be missed damn!!!!!! :'( :'( :'(

The BEST producer ever has just bowed out of the game. What will I listen to now ?

I can seriously say that I don't feel anyone's entire albums today besides my nigga Quik. So what do I do now...make 20 mix CDs with the random shit I like. Quik was the only producer for me that came correct everytime. Damn......this shit is depressing...

You guys need to calm down. Theres no official news on this yet. Quik could have been really drunk last night. Maybe he was just pissed off at the moment. Maybe hes depressed right now and needs a break. I highly dought hes just gonna dissapear like that. Someone will talk some sense into him. And if hes gonna leave he cant go out with a greatist hits album. Hes gotta go out with a bang. A classic cd.

Exactly. In a way I'm kinda glad he said that shit, maybe it'll push him to rap about positive shit. His last album was dope, but if you're gonna retire you gotta go out with a bang.

I wonder if Quik retires will he still carry on his label "Euphonics" and run game like Dr Dre because Dre is also dropping one last album "Detox". Afterwards he'll continue developing the artist on the Aftermath roster. Maybe Quik will follow :-/

No rapper actually retires, none of them can stay away!

Quik is just pissed off right now cuz his last cd did not have any commercial appeal whatsoever (it is a great cd but no way it could've sold)......when you compare the beats on his cd to "John Doe", "Im Not Really Lookin",  "Put it in the Air", and "Addictive", you can see why Quik did not sell.  His worst first single ever most definietly hurt him....

Quik still has a very bright future ahead of him as far as the music business goes, once he gets his head out of his ass........
