Eminem Owns The Charts For Christmas Week!
« on: December 23, 2004, 09:43:05 AM »
Eminem really proved his star power this week.  Christmas week is the biggest sales week and Eminem, despite faling off as an mc, still has the most jiuce in the game.

-He executive produced the #1 album on the charts, 2pac's "Loyal To The Game" released almost 10 years after 2pac's death, Eminem, breathed life into old, leftover 2pac outtakes, and made it into a number one hit.

-Even though Eminem has lost his skills as a lyricist and mc, and has run out of material to rap about, his latest album encore, still comes in at #2 on the billboard charts, putting his total album sales around 3 million!  Even when he comes wack he's still #1 with a bullet!

WHITE POWER!

Givin' respect to 2pac September 7th-13th The Day Hip-Hop Died

Yeah, blame it on the white power kids with no sense of what's good music and what's not.

Same goes for the 2pac album. I think it's just because they knew Eminem produced it, many of them liked it. For real, how many 2Pac fans from back in the days, like this new album?

2Pac albums since his death have always debuted strong. Isn't this his third number 1 album since he died?

As for the white kids and the Eminem thing. It's all about mass appeal and Em has it. The Good Charlottes will always outsell the Clashes. The Whitesnakes will always outsell the Black Sabbaths. The Mc Hammers will always outsell the Rakims. The Michael Jacksons will always outsell the Niel Youngs. The Garth Brookses will always outsell the Johnny Cashes. It's just the way it goes. When it's all said and done the true greats will be imortalized the ones ones that sold a lot will barely be remembered.

"Even though Eminem has lost his skills as a lyricist and mc"

A kinda stupid thing to say, if you ask me. Granted, most of Encore was wack as hell, but just because he made one bad album you can't say he lost his skills.

"White power!" What the fuck was that all about?

The whole thing looks like it was written by Benzino.

sad but its true...it is not only white power, but MTV, TRL and all the little girls and wiggas think this album is tight as hell...I doubt Eminem all of a sudden lost his skills overnight, but why should he put an effort to make a classic album when he could just fart and vomit all over a record and go at least 4Xplat...

MMLP and TES sold way better, though. Thank God.
Cause I don't care where I belong no more
What we share or not I will ignore
And I won't waste my time fitting in
Cause I don't think contrast is a sin
No, it's not a sin

Well, I already thought the boy fell off after the Slim Shady LP (I didn't even like MMLP that much) but with 8 Mile he showed he's still on point. He can probably still do it that way, but he just can't be bothered pleasing the hiphop community, as the pop industry is way bigger anyway. It's all about the money.

It's just rub off sales. Anytime an artist seels huge with an album the next couple do rather well because the people that bought the previous ones give the new one a chance. Bad was much worse than Thriller and Dangerous was much worse than Bad but both went upwards of 6 to 7 platinum. They did not however reach the sales of Thriller but they did compete with the other albums in their years. Backstreet Boys were selling multi platinum well after they were finished and if N'Synch released a come back it would probably go around 5 platinum even if it sucks to it's target audience. When an artist becomes a cultural icon it takes a slow death to kill him. Em could probably turn a profit once more doing the same thing he is now, and if he is in this for the money, which 90% of the industry is, then he will do what he can to make that money.

There is no reason to hate on it, because it's always been this way. I didn't care that Hammer and Vanilla were selling more than Kane or Rakim because some people just don't have mass appeal. Em does, and he gets the most he can out of it while trying to make it last as long as it can. Nobody is confusing Eminem with Bob Dylan. He's a witty lyricist but he's never been called a prophet.

Damn, I just hope Eminem won't die, because that would definately turn him into a prophet like Pac and Big, and that would mean there's gonna be like 8 posthumous records of his coming out before 2015, all done with material which sucks more than the material he has already used for Encore.

Oh Lord, please let Eminem stay alive. We're better off this way.

Nah the problem is, the white people have taken over hiphop mainstream. Thats why you got so many comerciall rap bullshit. There are so many hot underground rappers, but they dont get the chance.
