 It's New Years Eve today (apart from those readers where the New Year has already broken!) so we want to wish all our visitors the very best for the coming year! It has been a hugely challenging year for Dubcnn with some internal changes, server downtime and LOTS of planning for the future.
We want to take this chance to thank you all for the patience and concern shown during 2010 and rest assured that 2011 will be the year that Dubcnn as you know it will change dramatically. As part of the plans we, as always, value your ideas and suggestions to improve Dubcnn.
As always please ensure you utilise all our methods of communicating with you, the Forum and our Facebook and Twitter pages to ensure you get the most up to date news, giveaways and information.
I want to finally take this moment to thank each and every member of the Dubcnn team for all their hard work and effort in 2010, those include Nima, Lil Jay, Mil, Jose, Javon, J-Double, Yash, Adon, Jome, Chad and Jonathan and all the co-contributers and organisations we work alongside to deliver content to our readers. Thanks too must go to all the artists, producers and labels that consistantly support Dubcnn in what we try to do - and to those other sites and blogs that post news and media in the right way, you know who you are!

 At the turn of the year Knoc-turn'al and his MathMadix protégés including Knawledg, J-Beam and Ripacut launched their brand new website, Mathmadix.com and have us the exclusive premiere of the Knawledg track My Favorite Things with Knoc-turn'al & Big Tyme.
The day after that January 2010 update we followed up with the Knawledg mixtape Deleted Scenes that features Knoc-turn'al, David Banner and MathMadix to name a few!
Today we are back with new material from two of those Knoc-Turn'Al protege's, J-Beam & Knawledg who continue to represent MathMadix Ent with the release of "The Dropout Project" which is being release tomorrow on Mathmadix.com.
We have the first single from the release entitled "I Fux With The DJ" - it can streamed and downloaded below. "The Dropout Project" is a remix/mash-up project and is to be considered an appetizer to the numerous projects MathMadix will be dropping in 2011.

 As we have reported previous Zion I dropped their seventh album Atomic Clock on November 9th and Dubcnn was at the CD release show in San Francisco to bring you these exclusive photos, taken by Dubcnn Staff Photographer Jennifer Wing.
Adding a band to jam along with his back beats, producer Amp Live has been able to mix live instruments with reggae/dub beats to create raw and powerful tracks for Atomic Clock. AmpLive provides a musical muse for the deeps flows of Zumbi whose rhymes continue to evolve just like the duo has.

 Top Dawg Ent.'s next artist in line (I've been saying that since "Gangsta & Soul"), Schoolboy Q, is about two weeks away from the release of his new mixtape "Setbacks". The emcee has just leaked a new track from the project called "Fantasy" featuring Jhene Aiko. She was also featured on Kendrick Lamar's song "Growing Apart", which had that same mellow vibe that "Fantasy" brings us today.

 As we've told you previously veteran West Coast rapper/producer, Gregory "Big Hutch" Hutchinson, a.k.a. Cold 187um is gearing up for the early 2011 release of his 4th solo body of work, the appropriately titled "Only God Can Judge Me". So far we have given you Electric Lady and Lord Have Mercy from the now released "EF U Hutch EP", which is available on iTunes now.
Today we are back with an exclusive interview with Big Hutch, his first since the June 2010 feature, to review his past, present and future.
Above the Law, comprised of Hutch, along with fellow group-mates; KMG the Illustrator, Go Mack and DJ Total K-Oss, "officially" came together as a collective back in the mid-to-late eighties, eventually catching the attention of pioneering "gangsta" dynamo, Eazy-E [R.I.P.]. After signing to E's, then still burgeoning, Ruthless empire, A.T.L. dropped their impressive, Dr. Dre assisted debut, Livin' Like Hustlers.
Over the course of the next decade-plus, the Hip-Hop quartet from Pomona, California, went on to record seven additional, mostly successful, projects; Vocally Pimpin', Black Mafia Life, Uncle Sam's Curse, Time Will Reveal, Legends, Forever: Rich Thugs, Book One and Sex, Money & Music, as a unit, whilst Hutch steadily continued to build up his elite clientele; the aforementioned Eazy, Kokane, Frost, Kam, MC Ren, Tupac Shakur, Tha Dogg Pound, among others, as a now highly revered beatsmith.
Although, as of late, Above the Law have suffered more than their fair share of, both personal and professional, lows, throughout it all Big Hutch & company somehow always seem to manage and uphold their reputable legacy in the game.

 Orange County Hip-Hop artist K.E. (K Eazzy) of Best Kept Ent has been on the scene for a little while now but recently caught our attention with the release of his "I Don't Like The Look of It (Remix)" video that is directed by fellow Best Kept Ent group member Kaliber.
The new single, which appears on K.E.'s newly released mixtape "So Eazzy," showcases the talent of Best Kept Entertainment with not just the music but also the music video direction of Kaliber.
Kaliber has been on the scene since 2003 as an artist (opening shows for artists such as Evidence of Dilated Peoples, Strong Arm Steady, Cashis and more) and more recently as a director with over 25 music videos to his name already.

This comes just days after the second leak from "Live For Die For", which was the Brook D'Leau (of J*DaVeY) and Polyester (of LAUSD) produced "If You Throw It". "Live For Die For" will be the follow-up project to their underrated mixtape "Nova", which was released back in January of this year.

 A New Hollywood Productions/Cash Money Records film "The Division" to begin production January 2011, a film based on a story by Glasses Malone
The Division short film begins principle photography in Los Angeles, CA on January 15, 2011, under the direction of Max Albert, co-founder of Albert Mason Media LLC; it was jointly announced today by Darryl Lucky Rodgers, assistant to Benny Boom; Glasses Malone, Cash Money Records; and Malcolm M. Mays, screenwriter of the production.
The screenplay is written by Charles Penniman, and Malcolm M. Mays (Open Door). The producer is Darryl Lucky Rodgers (Assistant Director, S.W.A.T.: Fire-Fight). Executive Producer is Glasses Malone (“Sun Come Up” ft. Rick Ross, T-Pain, Birdman). Jamie Garnett is associate producing under the Albert Mason Media LLC banner, along with the productions director of photography, Carlos Mason (co-founder of Albert Mason Media LLC).
In the film, L.A.P.D. Narcotics Detective Richard Lasaro tracks the elaborate business dealings orchestrated by rapper, and drug kingpin, Glasses Malone. Under the command of an unforgiving Police Captain, with the fire power of a highly trained, but jaded S.W.A.T. team, Lasaro proceeds to organize the assaulting arrest of Malone, in the interest of finally shutting down Blu Division's illicit operations that are centered in south central Los Angeles' Watts district. Deeply rooted professional, and personal moral conflicts ensue for Detective Lasaro, as he is eventually faced point blank with the truth about Blu Division's overwhelming influence and control in south central Los Angeles.

 You've probably seen the name Pete G on our site numerous times, mainly for his engineering work of many Ca$his records. Today we'd like to exhibit the artistic talent Pete G possesses as we showcase his music video as well as one of his songs.
Pete G has a busy 2011 ahead of him with lots of material set to drop including; his mixtape "The Lavish Life" on January 7th, an Above All presented EP & his debut solo album. On top of that he has two collaboration albums in the making, one with R-Mean and another with Ca$his.

 Last month we informed you that Georgia rapper I-20, formally known as Infamous 2-0, was gearing up to release his mixtape entitled "The Gray Area" which is to be hosted and mixed by DJ Bobby Block.  16 year-old Quintes “Que” Austin is from one the most gang-infested projects in Milwaukee. The label he records for is 3D Entertainment/Tonestruck Records, headed by Lee Ford, KB Barrell and Devon Dent.
This young artist and his song Can’t Keep Running Away” were featured on EUR Web last week and since then, Senator Lena C. Taylor from Wisconsin heard the song, and the lyrics simply blew her away! Her office is now at the forefront championing the effort to bring awareness to what he has recorded to everyone across the country.
Also, Ebony Magazine and Jet Magazine have joined in to promote this song and Que via their publications as well. Ebony Magazine is featuring the song on their new Ebony iPad, which is being readied for release immediately. Check the song below:

 A few days ago, one half of the Snoop Dogg-endorsed group Hustle Boyz, Mac Lucci, released his solo mixtape "Cortez Muzik" in conjunction with Snoop & DJ Age.
Now it's time for the other half of the group, D-Dimes, to release some new music. While we patiently wait for December 14th and the release of Too Short's new digital "Respect The Pimpin'", we have received some incredible live footage to hold us over until the release.
Too Short recently had a concert at the Mezzanine in San Francisco and those who had the chance to witness it spent an incredible two-and-a-half hours. Short Dogg rocked the stage with a live band, supported by Martin Luther and Bay Area singer/rapper Silk-E (who is also featurd on the new EP) and Richie Rich.
There will be more footage from the show surfacing soon, but for now watch Too Short perform the smash hit "Bitch" that he did with E-40, with a guest verse by Silk-E. Watch below:
