 Hip-hop supergroup Slaughterhouse, consisting of Joell Ortiz, Crooked I, Royce da 5' 9, and Joe Budden, have officially announced the completion and a release date for their forthcoming album, which is dropping July 7th on E1/Koch Records.
The group was the crowd favorite and biggest draw at the recent Paid Dues Festival.

 As previously reported, DJ Muggs will be releasing a brand new Soul Assassins album called "Intermission" on June 23rd through Gold Dust/Soul Assassins Records. The album is set to feature B-Real, Bun B, RZA, Xzibit, Young De, La Coka Nosta, Prodigy, Planet Asia, M1 (dead prez), Evidence, Alchemist, Krondon, Mykestro, Self Scientific and Fashawn amongst others, with all production of course coming from Muggs himself.

 Alchemist is back with a new album! After giving his fans a preview of what's yet to come on his EP "Alchemist's Cookbook", the Los Angeles producer/rapper will be relasing his long awaited "Chemical Warfare" album on July 7th on E1 Music (formerly known as Koch Records).
Now how he found the time to finish a new album I don't know, because as far as I know, ALC has been on tour 24/7 with Eminem, bringing Slim Shady's stage show to life. Judging by the preview tracks and the tracklisting though, "Chemical Warfare" could very well be a "album of the year" contender.
The album brings together some of Hip-Hop finest lyricists: Eminem, Kool G Rap, Jadakiss, KRS One, Talib Kweli, Crooked I, Pusha T, Snoop Dogg, Tha Dogg Pound, Twista, Evidence, Blu, KiD CuDi, Oh No, Roc C, Lil Fame, Fabolous, The Lady Of Rage, Three 6 Mafia, Juvenile and Prodigy are all featured on the album.
The current single is called "Smile" and features R&B singer Maxwell and Chi-Town's Twista. This hasn't left the rotation since Alchemist sent it over a few days ago, seems like ALC himself has been stepping up his pen game too:

 Sacramento's own Brotha Lynch Hung is taking another stab at the rap game. After recently inking a deal with Tech N9ne's label Strange Muzic with distribution through Fontana/Universal Records. It's about time Lynch found a new outlet to release his music through, and him teaming up with Tech N9ne is more than fitting.
The first project Brotha Lynch will be dropping is a new mixtape entitled "Gas Station" on June 20th, fans can preorder the project now via Lynch's MySpace page. A first leak off the mixtape was recently released, called "Rocc The Mic".
This one has been in heavy rotation ever since it came out. Lynch fans and new listeners alike should be feeling this, Lynch spits over a smooth beat (for his standard) but still comes raw, check it out:

 Things have been quiet around Taje in 2009 so far, after he dropped his Get It Gang project late last year. Ever since his debut project "Hot Box" and it's follow up "Hot Box 2: The Second Hit", Taje has become a fixture in the West Coast scenery and has left his supporters waiting for more.
Recently released on bail for legal issues he is not at liberty to discuss, he chooses to focus on the positive. As he readies the third installment to his Hot Box series called "Hold Your Breath for a summer release, he gives us a peak at Hot Box 3 with a new song called "System Overload", produced by DJ Khalil.
"The song speaks for itself, it’s not about dissin’ what’s out in music, its more about not being afraid to be out of the box and different get unplugged from the matrix and be you", Taje says about the track.

As you might have heard, the supergroup Slaughterhouse, consisting of Crooked I, Joe Budden, Royce Da 5'9 and Joell Ortiz recently signed to E1 Music (formerly kown as Koch Records) to release their debut album on July 7th. The album will feature production by DJ Khalil, Alchemist and Streetrunner amongst others.
One half of Slaughterhouse recently hooked up with Sir Aah, a Panjabi artist from the DMV area. Crooked I and Royce Da 5'9 assist Sir Aah on his "Free Meal" tape on a politically charged track called "I Wonder If The Lord Knows".

 Dubcnn would like you to get familiar with Noah Jones, an up and coming artist originally from New York City, who has been living in California for the last 10 years, Anaheim to be exact.
He's been doing music for a long time, but started to grind heavily these last couple of months, recording tracks with Glasses Malone, Nipsey Hussle, Jay Rock, Knoc-Turn'Al and Focus to name a few, all without a deal or a budget. He recently dropped a single called "I Get It" with Glasses Malone, which has been downloaded over 25,000 times so far.

 It's been a couple of years since we heard some new music from Bay Area veteran D-Shot. Mostly known as one fourth of The Click (with E-40, B-Legit and Suga T), it seemed as if the Shot was laying low musically.
However, the man himself contact dubcnn recently to let the world know he is still around and actually prepping a new album, titled "Presidential". He sent over the first single off the album, titled "Thug Lovin'", for which he recruited his brothers E-40 and B-Legit, as well as A2Tha and D-Biggs to come assist him.

 Back in early 2007, dubcnn premiered a track that turned a lot of heads. Around the time when the term "New West" was causing a lot of controversy, two artists by the names of Bad Lucc aka "The Watts Riot" and Mykestro aka "The Best West of the 110" came together.
Over a thumping THX production, they recorded a track called "The Best", which couldn't have found a more fitting title. Lucc and 'Stro both came with their lyrical A-Game and made "The Best" a very memorabl track. Now, almost two and a half years later, the video to the song has been released.
 Once again filmed by Dah Dah, who's portfolio is growing impressively by the day, this video brings the track to life long after its release, make sure to check it out:

 Early in 2007 we introduced you to an up and coming talent by the name of Dreamz. The Chicano artist who hails from the Los Angeles and San Fernando Valley area has been working on material for some time now and was brought to our attention when he linked up with Meech Wells.
Last year he enlisted in the help of Meech Wells & DJ L-Gee to release his solo mixtape Dreamz - The Execution, which featured Konflict, E-White, Fredro Starr, Kokane, Mr Shadow, Lil Uno, Mack 10, Bad Azz and many more.
He then exclusively released through dubcnn, Midnight & U (Featuring Sly Boogy & Konflict), his first single from the upcoming mixtape "Cali Dreamz". The single blew away readers and received nothing but high praise.
We've got a follow up single to share today which features KK of 2nd II None. Produced by Mr. Brimm, "In Da Club" is sure to keep the dance floor packed. .jpg) 21-year-old up-and-coming rapper Dolla was fatally shot Monday afternoon at a popular mall in Los Angeles.Dolla, whose real name is Roderick Anthony Burton II, was shot in the head about 3:10 p.m. at the Beverly Center, his publicist said.
Police later detained a person at the Los Angeles International Airport, said city police spokeswoman Karen Raynar. Further details were not immediately available about the shooting.
Dolla, who was based in Atlanta, Georgia, was in Los Angeles recording his debut album. He caught the attention of multi-platinium R&B singer Akon when the then-12-year-old Dolla was performing with friends at showcases around Atlanta. The two collaborated on Dolla's first single, "Who the F--- Is That?" which also featured another high-profile singer, T-Pain. Another Dolla song, "Feelin' Myself," appeared on the soundtrack to the 2006 movie "Step Up."
According to his MySpace page, Dolla was born in Chicago, Illinois. His twin sister died at birth because of complications from an enlarged heart. The family moved to Atlanta after Dolla's father committed suicide while he, then 5, and another sister watched from their parents' bed, the Web page said. Dolla began composing rhymes in elementary school and decided to pursue a career in music.

 Last time we checked in with TJ Santana from the Young Hoggs was last year when he dropped Beverly Hills Cop Song (which sampled the Beverly Hills Cop theme). He's been working on his "West Coast Succs Right Now" EP dropping through RBC Records soon and he has a new single out right now.
The single in question is called "On My Get Money" and features the man who played a part in bringing the Young Hoggs to everybody's attention, Mack 10. As always they have great chemistry together on the track. Its available for stream and/or download below, check it out!

 The Long Beach group FrattHouse, consisting of G.B. (the son of RBX) and E-Money (cousin of Snoop Dogg), have been dropping new music all year on Dubcnn including Am So Fly and Get That Paper both of which feature Daz Dillinger.
Those tracks were taken from their upcoming album "FrattHouse University" and a DPG and Gangsta Zone Records project respectively. Today we have a new track that is set to appear on "Jukebox: Volume 1" a mixtape that is to come out in the next few weeks and be available for free download.
The new mixtape track, that can be listened to and downloaded below, is over the TI track "I'm Illy" off his latest LP "Paper Trail" produced by Chuck Diesel [see the full album credits in The Vault].

 Verbal is an artist whom you may well be familiar with without actually realising. During 2008 he appeared on Dubcnn countless times alongside Raje' during his popular Massive Thursday's feature we ran on Dubcnn.
That feature saw Raje' give up and coming producers the chance to submit beats for him to possibly rap over, each week the winners beat was selected, a track compiled and then released on Dubcnn. Verbal appeared alongside Raje' on some of those tracks as well as tracks that Raje' had set to appear on his "The Conversion EP."
Runnin' Ya Mouth (Woop Woop) featured both Chino XL and Verbal while the THX produced Livin This saw Verbal appear alongside Cashis and Raje'.
One of the Massive Thursday submissions uncovered a Bay Area based producer called KDE and spawned the track U Can Hate, that very same producer has linked up with Verbal on the solo tip providing a beat for the single from his upcoming mixtape "Get Down Or Lay Down Volume 1."

 You may already be familiar with the following artist from previous updates with Noni Spitz, a young talented emcee named Geo Brown aka Mr. Nobody Else. While soaking up knowledge from his good friends super producer Dae One & mentor Noni Spitz, Geo Brown has been patiently waiting to shine.
Having worked with countless West Coast artists, producers(Dae One, Focus, Damizza, Dame Taylor) and featuring on projects such as the Tupac Assassination Soundtrack which was arranged through his affiliation with Aftermath’s Bishop Lamont, which is also how he ended up in the studio writing for Dr. Dre's long awaited Detox.. He also recently got a slot on PR1ME's Stylifornia, Noni Spitz's WIMS project, and countless others.

 Straight from LA, CA and after 5 highly successful mixtapes (pushing north of 100K units sold) Custom Made (Bluff, Element, Scoobs and Six) returns with Street Cinema Vol: 6 The Lost Weekend (which will be released shortly).
The Lost Weekend is a compilation of tracks that were recorded during sessions for Truth Be Told (Rawkus/2007), Heavy Traffic (Custom Made/2007), Great Expectations (Custom Made/2008) and Original Dynasty (Babygrande/2008) and new tracks that were recorded with Six after his release from prison (Six was in prison for 2 years from 2007-2008 and is currently serving a 160-day sentence for parole violations).
Recently we featured three tracks off this compilation; Sunday Money, Saturday Special, New Life as well as the music video they shot for the project Sunday Money (Video). We have another track to share today, its called "Somebodys Hurting" and can be streamed and/or downloaded below!

 One artist who can truly say he's been on the radar of Dubcnn since we formed in 2002 is the Bay Area's own Prophet. From his debut album "Block Venom," to his 2006 sophomore "Listen To My Demo" right through to his Enrique Iglesias remix single Push that appeared on the "Step Up 2" soundtrack and most recently his NFL Fox TV coverage with DJ Skee and his Wildcard NFL Intro audio - we've had you covered all the way.
Today is no exception as we are back with more news and media from this talented artist. Prophet is currently putting the finishing touches on a new mixtape with DJ Skee and Chris Cornell entitled "Scream." The project is an eclectic Rock/Hip-Hop/Dance Mash-Up that will feature a blend of both remixes and new material.
We have the first track to be released from "Scream," a remix of the Timbaland produced "Enemy" which sees Prophet and Forrest from Terra Incognita over the Chris Cornell record.

 Willie Brown, a Lynwood, CA native and Compton, CA resident, better known as "Willie B", a producer/artist affiliated with super producers 1500 or Nothin', releases his first single "Womp Womp" featuring the "West Coast Princess Chevy Jones.
This single will be featured on both Willie Brown's "Smasharonis & Cheese" and Chevy Jones' "Cheverly Hills" projects due this Summer/early Fall and sees Chevy making her emcee debut! "Womp Womp" is currently getting spins from well renowned Philadelphia Disc Jockey, DJ Truuf of WDJP radio.
Willie is currently working on the completion of the "Smasharonis & Cheese" LP where he's provided 80% of the production, while simultaneously recording a second project with well respected producer Seige Monstracity entitled "The Hurt", which is also executive produced by Seige himself.

 It's already been 10 years since Jelly Roll had his first major placement on Snoop Dogg's "No Limit Top Dogg" album with the song "Party With a D.P.G.", so it's safe to say that the man has paid his dues with the work he's put in over the years. Even though he has produced and sang for other major names such as Dr. Dre, Busta Rhymes, Xzibit, Redman and The Game just to name a few, Jelly Roll is not a household name (yet) and he could still be labeled as a secret weapon in the Hip-Hop industry.
This year, the Oklahoma born, Cali living artist is about to change all that as he has finished his long overdue solo debut. Jelly was blessed with an incredible talent so it's only right that he's finally getting his own shine with this new album called "Mood Swings". As the title says, the project is filled with a large diversity of moods and different sounds like I haven't heard in a long time.
In conjunction with the album release, Jelly reached out to Dubcnn to talk about the new project. In this exclusive interview, he explains his meaning behind the title and gets into the concept of the album. Jelly also talks about his track record, compares himself to other producers and speaks about staying behind the scenes. Last but not least he gives us an update on his Gain Green label imprint.

 Of course we also have a little "Mood Swings" sneak preview for all the Dubcnn readers out there. This one here is my personal favorite cut off the album and I'm so happy to finally let this one go as it's hands down one of the tightest joints I've heard this year. To hold you over, we got another appetizer for our readers, as Jelly Roll teamed up with New York's DJ Big Kap (Funk Flex/The Tunnel) to release a free mixtape before the actual album. "Bigg Baby The Mixtape" is filled with 26 tracks and it contains a nice little introduction to get you familiar with just some of songs that Jelly produced during the years (songs from 1 through 6) followed by unreleased and new songs from the "Mood Swings" album as well as other future projects. There's also a bonus track by Stack Bundles (R.I.P.) called "My Life is Like a Movie" that Jelly Roll produced a few years ago for the Far Rockaway, Queens rapper.

 Watts rapper and West Coast legend Kam recently released a new album called "Fruit Pruno". This special project is a Nation of Islam based album which features strictly NOI songs and artists such as Yung Bruh and Jasiri X. The CD was available in limited supply at saviour's day in Chicago, but those who didn't get a chance to purchase a copy can get it on Kam's MySpace.
Last month we leaked the track Righteous Luv to give you a taste of the album and today we can follow it up with another song "X-Man". This L's produced banger features Yung Bruh & Jasiri X and can be heard below.

In an exclusive interview with Dubcnn and The Pulse radio show in Phoenix, AZ Javon had the pleasure of conversing with a true Hip Hop legend. Peep game as Spice 1 aka Marvin Bay talks about his new album "Home Street Home" and his new label Thug World Music Group. Spice talks about the preparing to step his game up on the entrepreneurial side with his label and is adamant about being the voice that heads turn to in these trying economic times.
Oh, and Spice wants to put shady business folks on blast for buying old Spice 1 verses, putting them over sub par production and passing them off as official Spice One releases. So don’t get it twisted, the shooting of over a year ago only strengthened his resolve. Spice 1 is here to stay and that’s what’s up.  As we reported last month Basik and Reese One, better known as Bleu Collar, have been working on brand new music for an EP that will be made available for free download on May 19th. "Training Day" is a five song EP that will be available for free download right here on Dubcnn and showcases the duo in their rawest form while doubling as a metaphor for the group’s re-entry into the game. Last month we told you that the release puts Bleu Collar up against "sparing partners" including Portishead, David Banner, Flying Lotus, MF Doom, and Deadly Avenger. The first track we released from the EP was Bleu Collar vs. Doom & Ghost.
Today we are back with another track from the EP alongside its video. This time they drop verses over Portishead's "Machine Gun" instrumental from their recent "Third" album.
