 Fratt House "Get That Paper" Alongside Daz Dillinger - By : Rud - September 30, 2009
 The Long Beach group FrattHouse, consisting of G.B. (the son of RBX) and E-Money (cousin of Snoop Dogg), have been regulars over recent years on Dubcnn. 2009 has been a packed year so far with tracks on Dubcnn incuding the mixtape "Jukebox" which could be downloaded or streamed, the singles Am So Fly and Get That Paper both of which feature Daz Dillinger and both of which, until recently, were set to show up on their upcoming album "FrattHouse University."
While Am So Fly still should, the latter track Get That Paper is the title track from a new digital project that is due for release on October 6.
"Get That Paper" - the cover of which can be seen above - is a collaboration album with Daz Dillinger, a long term producer for the duo and features 11 new tracks! After this update we will have showcased almost half the album and will have left you in no doubt that you have to order it today.
First up we have two tracks featuring Daz Dillinger, track 2 and track 8 from the album, entitled "Wood Grain" and "You Gonna Want Me" respectively.

Next we have one of only three tracks on "Get That Paper" that doesnt feature Daz, "Goin Head Up" features the duo trading lyrics over a head-nodding instrumental.

 Today is a big day for West Coast music as two established legends release brand new albums - both of whom haven't released a new record since 2005. Warren G’s seventh studio album, "The G Files", is in stores today, Tuesday September 29th and the Self-produced project is packed with all-star talents including Snoop Dogg, Travis Barker, Ray J and many more, the current single, Warren G - 100 Miles And Runnin' Feat. Raekwon & Nate Dogg featuring Raekwon and Nate Dogg is quickly making its way on to radio stations across the country.
In support of "The G Files", Warren G recently announced a 21-city national tour that kicks off with his record release party on October 1st at the Roxy in Los Angeles.  Next up is Mack 10 who also released his longawaited album "Soft White" today. We have been feeding you with news and media for the last 2 years, so it's about time we get to hear the record in its full length.  Last year we reported on the album You're Welcome" was planning to release at the start of the year with the first single being his collaboration with Lil Wayne, So Fly.
Well theres been a change of plan and now "You're Welcome" with the help of DJ Drama has been turned into a mixtape which we have available for free download today!
For those that are worried about DJ tags affecting the music need not fear as DJ Drama only appears on the intro leaving the project tag free. Aside from one track, this contains all original material and features a star studded line up of artists and producers.

 Working under the consultation of Shade Sheist and PYO Entertainment International, Vancouver Canada-based artist Cole Minor drops his debut digital release "Preliminary Hearings" through Dubcnn, as an introduction all leading up to his self-titled debut album in 2010.
Having spent time Growing up in a family of working musicians, Cole Minor lived in the Bay Area as a teen and young adult and the Cali influence can be recognized in his lyrical style. However with many of the tracks reflecting the golden-era of eastcoast rap, the project takes on a unique sound of it's own.
Cole Minor was featured on the intro track to Shade Sheist's recent release "Out Of Sight, Out Of Mind - Canada Edition" which was made available on Dubcnn for download and to stream. We have his debut digital release "Preliminary Hearings" for free download below.

 Some of our readers will already be familiar with the artist Bullet, whether from his 2006 independent release "Sounds Of The Bullet" which featured Danny Boy & Mark Sparks with production from Yak Money, Darren Vegas and Jim Gittum or be it from his follow up release in 2007 "Str8 from the S.T.R.E.E.T.S." which came out via Thump/Universal and featured Danny Boy, Candyman187 and Trouble.
Last year Bullet was featured on Dubcnn for his street single featuring Glasses Malone, U Dont Want War. He's back with a new single produced by Mark Sparks, the man behind Kurupt's "Throwback Muzik".

 Many of you are now familiar with Sub-z, an up and coming artist from South Carolina that we have featured before numerous times most notably for his mixtape Failure Iz Not An Option (Hosted By DJ Woogie).
To show his respect for the west coast a few months back Sub-z released I'm Coolin(Feat. Big Bidnez), a laidback mellow song with that vintage California sound and he quickly followed that up with his latest single Dirty Game. He's got a new song called "Revelations" which is available for stream and/or download below.

 DJ Quik is bringing back his popular jam session style concert series, Quik's Groove, to the House of Blues in Los Angeles located on the Sunset Strip. The first concert of the series will begin tonight. Quik's Groove combines the elements of hip-hop, R&B, jazz & funk against a back drop of live music.

 We get into another edition of our Dubcnn Throwbacks! This time we have special guest Kurupt, who not only serves as the featured artist but also as the co-host of the accompanying video. We literally sit down with Young Gotti to chop it up and take it waaaay back with this one here. I'm sure a lot of readers haven't heard these joints before... These are Kurupt's first ever recordings, even before the days of Tha Dogg Pound. Back then, 1991 to be exact, the legendary S.O.S. Band linked up with a then 19-year-old Kurupt to work on three songs for their album "One Of Many Nights".
In this footage we get into the most notable song called "Someone I Can Love", while Kurupt lights one up and hears the record for the very first time since he made it – as he puts it himself. Watch the video below to get a better understanding of what is going on here...

 Portland based rapper V!RTU has recently released his new album entitled "The Shoe-In". The 14 track deep record features a bunch of guests like I.E.'s Dirty Birdy, Skillz, Muneshine and others. Besides his rapping skills, V!RTU also showcases his hand-painted custom shoes on the album artwork as well as his MySpace page.

 The  Watts Riot Bad Lucc has just released a new song featuring Black Hippy, the newest formation on the West Coast consisting of Top Dawg Ent. artists Jay Rock, Kendrick Lamar (formerly known as K.Dot), Schoolboy Q, and Ab-Soul. They go in for six and a half minutes and create a heater called "Target Practice".

 “I’m not internationally known, but I’m known to rock the microphone” has become one of the most popular and often recited lines in the history of hip-hop. Well how about being internationally known with a soulful swagger, a West Coast R&B singing style fused with a multitude of rap cadences, that IS internationally known? Put all of that together and you have Airamis, a Las Vegas native signed to Maynea Records, based out in Sweden.
Known as “the big man with the big plan”, Airamis is not only large in stature, but proved he is also large at heart, when he wrote a dedication song that could also be described as patriotic, and is dedicated towards the veterans of war who never received a proper welcome home.  Pac Div is going hard at 'em! Just a couple reasons why they're better than your favorite rapper right now: One, they got Pharrell featured on 4 joints on their upcoming album "Grown Kid Syndrome". Whether you like dude or not, that's a major co-sign right there. Two, they just released a dope visual for their self-titled song "Pac Div", which is, in my opinion, their hardest song so far. Three and the most evident: they released with the "Church League Champions" mixtape one of the best projects this year. Hip-Hop at its finest!

 13 years ago today, on September 13th 1996, Hip-Hop lost it's most prominent icon and one of the greatest MC’s of all time, Tupac Amaru Shakur, who died from gunshot wounds suffered during a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas.
25-year-old Shakur left behind the biggest catalogue known to the history of music, with over 1000 unreleased recordings still yet to be heard by the general public. The former powerhouse record label Death Row was on the auction block earlier this year, allowing canadian firm WIDEawake Entertainment Group to purchase the label from bankruptcy for $18 million in January. It now plans what it says will be a "hugely profitable" business strategy for the company, built upon digital and mobile formats, synchronization licensing deals for television and film, and the issuing of previously unreleased material -- including songs by 2Pac. WIDEawake have the rights to release 13 recordings by Shakur, chosen from a selection of unreleased tracks.
Within months of acquiring the company's somewhat depreciated assets, Lara Lavi, current CEO of WIDEawake Death Row, has already initiated new releases from the label. Amidst praise and neighs alike, on September 1st the first album distributed was a reissue of Dr. Dre’s "Chronic", called "Chronic Re-Lit" which included seven bonus tracks, letting listeners hear a few leftovers from their favourite inmates’ golden years.
WIDEawake Death Row Entertainment look set to continue releasing never before heard music from Death Row. Last week they revealed the track listing for an upcoming Snoop Doggy Dogg album entitled "The Lost Sessions Vol. 1", an album that will consist of unreleased tracks from Snoop Dogg, recorded during his time on Death Row.

 Connecticut's rhyme wrecker Apathy returns with a warm hug and a deadly snakebite on his sophomore album, "Wanna Snuggle?". Apathy, known as lead MC of Demigodz clique as well as a member of Jedi Mind Tricks' Army of the Pharaohs, follows up 2006's Babygrande Records "Eastern Philosophy" debut with a brand new project.
Some of the highlights include the uptempo "Shoot First", which is a Mike Shinoda produced track featuring the legendary B-Real (of Cypress Hill) and Celph Titled, as well as a collaboration with J-Live.
Little Brother's own Phonte makes a cameo on "True Love", and some soulful hooks are laced across the album courtesy of Chip-Fu (of Fu-Schnickens) and Wu-Tang vocalist Blue Raspberry. Also contributing a major factor to the album is singer Holly Brook, best known for Fort Minor's chart topping "Where'd You Go" single and video.
Fort Minor, Get Busy Committee, Demigodz and AOTP family are definitely in full effect throughout the project, including Ryu (of Styles of Beyond), Motive, Emilio Lopez, King Magnetic, Veze Skante and more. The bulk of production is handled by Apathy himself, who has been building up a production resume producing for Tiye Phoenix, Styles of Beyond, 7L & Esoteric, Eternia, and upcoming albums from Cypress Hill and Edo G.

I’m sure you all know about the oft delayed "Only Built for Cuban Linx: Pt II" and the Aftermath situation. Rae talks about what he learned after going through that whole deal.

First off we saw the release of his latest Worldtape "Out Of Sight, Out Of Mind - Canada Edition" for download and to stream, swiftly followed by the RedMusicUK,Young Noble & TQ track Bad Enough and its subsequent video.
Today we have just been sent a perfectly titled track forthe date; 09/09/09. "9ines 9ines 9ines" is the first leak from the long awaited and much anticipated "Movin Units" album from Shade Sheist and N.U.N.E. that is out in December.
With appearances from Techniec, Domino, RedRum781 and Eddie Kane Jr, as well as a single that blends Westcoast funk with electronica - in Movin Like A Boss" that you will hear in early November - the release is set to gear up over the coming weeks.
From what we have heard of "Movin Units" you can expect a mix of smooth 90's-style G-Funk laced with gritty authentic sounds produced by the very outgoing emcee from the CPT, N.U.N.E.. Shade is determined that this long in development project satisfies his fans before the release of his 3rd and final G-Funk solo lp "P.N.L.A: The Exit Strategy" which you can expect in the summer of 2010.

 Bigg Steele has decided to give his upcoming album "Cereal & Water" some more time and push it back till next year. New tracks have been recorded, one of them being "D-Boy" featuring Daz Dillinger and "El Pecador" Sinful. They are taking it way back over an old school beat produced by Polarbear.  Xzibit and U-N-I linked up a few months ago to collaborate on a joint called "So What". The song has finally been free'd by the 2dopeboyz and it's just a puzzle from the upcoming project "Mr. Grustle & Tha Russian’s Dubstep LA: Embrace The Renaissance Vol. 1" presented by Cashmere Agency. The project will hit the web next week and it will feature other songs by Snoop Dogg, Murs, Grouch and Eligh, Ras Kass, Eve and others.

 Esinchill released his EP "The Fury" earlier this summer, while he's still preparing the release on his next album called "Vigilante". The Oakland rapper has been cooking up songs featuring the likes of grammy award winner Dave Hollister, Mistah F.A.B., Casual (Hieroglyphics), King Beef, Dave Lopez (Flipsyde), and more. Esinchill already released the street single "Soul of the City" featuring the aforementioned Dave Hollister a few months ago. Today we got a new song from Esinchill called "Weekend Girl".
