first song to debut at #1 since "I'll Be Missing You" in 97.

yeah, i guess it's a pretty slow time for music, not much new shit to be bumping besides this song.

the song nearly sold 400,000 copies; that's more than 97% of the people discussed on this board sell albums. :P

props, Em. 8)

I always thought Crack A Bottle debuted at number one and sold over 500k? Either way thats a good look for Em, Recovery coming soon!

haha when i first read that...thought it said thats somethin snoop would jump on

the beat is something Snoop Dogg would make

He has 3 or 4 that are pretty good. He needs help and direction though. He'd be better at executive producing, just overseeing producers in the studio as he has a decent ear for beats.
That made me lol

Lol nah bro, Niggerachi yet to make a dope beat

Speaking about eminem sales aint saying shit, dude dropped just loose it and my band and sold shit loads, most of his fans probably dont know shit about hiphop so really was ANYONE suprised to see eminem do well on the charts? lol

Speaking of not afraid though, i remember when i first heard it i thought it was solid and refreshing for eminem to go the 8mile route rather than the corny route for his first single. AND i prediced it'd be huge which i think it will be but i didnt think it was anything amazing but a dope joint. Then i heard it a few more times and i liked it more and then it got really played out quick. J coles joint on the other hand i played out too much, kept bumping it but when i check it now, its still fresh, the music, dude on the mic, its energy and good music.

Eminem should do great with this single though, its very solid but im already waiting on hearing something else now lol, not afraid aint something to jam come summer.

Infact unless one of these bigger names step up, im guessing someone unexpected will like usual step up with their young energy for the summer shit

Im def looking forward to hearing eminems album though, should be a solid release finally if this is anything to go by. But im already waiting on a next joint, this has gone boring for me lol

^considering Eminem has had plenty of VERY successful singles, as have MANY of other rappers over the years & this is the first one in over a decade that has debuted at number one is more than him just "selling well".

it's doing something that hasn't been done in Hip Hop since 1997 lol.

Fair enough, i guess it just goes to show the power of the brand that is eminem. I can think of many singles which have been more commercial and better than this which would never sell as much and i guess have not since the shit u stated about 1997.

Like i said, if dude could get people to buy his shit with records like just loose it, imagine how many eminem fans will be going ape shit when he drops a solid record for a single.  :o :o

Im already expecting to hear the usual shit when his album drops soon enough ''eminems back/GOAT/best rapper ever/alive.../who said he fell off? (because the last however many years become irrelavent lol) etc)

BUT this time, i sense he come out with something respectable after his last two efforts. And i wont clown on anybody if he does  :) :)

oh and on a side note, congrats to eminem on the number 1 debut, not that im suprised in the slightest he is doing well

Isn't Just A Lose It a comical take on a party song?  I always viewed most of his singles as a form of satire.
Cool breeze; I'm hopping out of new Beams
My outfit ran me a few G's but none of that will matter if you leave
I used to be an Adam with two Eves and shawtys automatically do me
Excuse me, all that happened before you doesn't matter
I'm a vision of the future climbing the success ladder

Who knows, what i do know is it was horrible waste of around 4 mins.

His first two singles from his first two lps were more than solid for the time they were released (my name is/real slim shady) but then after that it became too much of a gimmick and a gimmick fail and just terrible.

I guess.

I know I was disappointed with We Made You.  I was expecting a scathing diss track against certain artists or a reflection on fans & artists.  It felt like a half-assed version of the latter.  More or less Joell Ortiz approach to the track was what I expected.

I always liked Without Me and Purple Pills as well, Just Lose It, My Band and We Made You were all wack though.
