I feel ya homie. But the peeps, even the young heads, on this forum are well educated in Hip Hop and know that Rakim is droppin' an album soon and have also heard/own his previous work. We all anticipating it as much as you. I can tell your a HUGE Ra fan. West Coast heads look up to and recognize Ra's greatness just as much as anyone else. Peace.

there are only a few that can change hip hop

the major labels: the majors are the ones that bring hip hop to the world. they have the most control. they dont know what folks want to hear. they just jump on a bandwagon and ride it till the wheels fall off(seems to be the current state)

few artist: there are few artist with the clout that can pretty much do as they want. off tha top of my head the doctor seems to be doing this with detox. once he changes the game with this, we might see the rest of the industry follow his lead as he did with the chronic in 92

the people: we as the people that support this genre of music can change it. u say how?? by not supportting the generic crap that they force their artist to put out. when we stop buying all this generic bling bling fake thug ish. these majors will start to realize that it isnt selling anymore. thats when they will consider taking hip hop to another level with more creativity.

one group that seems to be the most consistent and creative in hip hop history is OUTKAST. think about it; what group seems to sell more or sustain the same sales with every album besides outkast. They keep taking they're creativity to new levels. And they just bring heat to the mic. they basically are the blueprint to style, creativity, consistency in hip hop

a yo very nice response yo......i do agree wit dre's detox album, however, i believe the album wit ra and dre "oh mu god" will b more of an influence than anything........i def agree wit you bout 92 wit da chronic changin rap, and i also believe rakim changed being an mc forever......with knowledge, his flow, talkin bout skillz, and together wow only time will tell once they release that of how big an album that will in hip-hop history
peace

Yeah, its getting stale and corny. I'm hoping this is not the future but just a point of transformation.

Hip-Hop will improve tho. If not at least we got the past.

I agree

The fact that Stillmatic got 5 mics shows how weak the competition in because that album is 3.5 tops and we all agree on that...damn Nas--Lettin us down, bro.

"We all agree on that.."?? Not me, solid 5 mics here.
