i think he was good on the chronic and doggystyle because he just had to

then when he went to no limit
he just wanted to see what would happen is terms of rap
and now that he has his own label
and more money will come to him i think he will make better albums

You can't even compare Doggystyle to It Was Written... but looks at it like this. You can't compare It Was Written to Illmatic, and you can't compare Tha Doggfather to Doggystyle... both rappers fell on their second releases and could never match their previous releases, but many claim Tha Doggfather a real good album compared to Doggystyle. Stillmatic is considered a classic for the content on the album, but you can't even compare it to Illmatic. Last Meal was Snoop's best effort since Doggystyle, but you can't compare the two either... besides, the point you were making is that Snoop isn't shit without doggystyle... just like NAS wouldn't be shit without Illmatic.

Like mellowman said about what dre has told dj quik n shiet; that is if youre a way too talented artist/producer you can't do the same thing your whole career, so... of course Snoop is being inspired to do somethings different. i mean we can all understand change, if he wanna change his subject matter for the better, change his beats for the better.
but some of yall really take for granted how tight he came on doggystyle. Its just not right how saucy he came. i mean we can make a case that he had one of the siccest flow and delivery 's of all time.

but the thing is snoop has a natural laid back voice, so its almost twice as bad when he dont come correct

aye, yall got to realize there are 2 types of snoop fans

1. loyal, but expect the best from snoop. are not blind to when he does or does not rhyme at his potential. still support snoop
2. loyal, fail to realize snoop is not at his potential 75 percent of the time. hate on folks who mention this. still support snoop
