Havin relashunz wit da white womuhnz is enough apology fo me.
I'm nobody to say that blacks do or don't deserve an apology... because some of them may feel like they do... however I'd like to point out that Germany had to make payments to Israel for the Holocaust
just goes to prove how much white people have been conditioned now into feeling guilty about the actions of white people in the past.
It's amusing also that whilst people are so quick to be passionate about the slave trade and yet are completely apathetic to sweeping police powers which happened across europe and america which censor intimidate and make a mockery of peoples basic civil liberties.
Are you even aware of what you are talking abour "1984 shit" how ignorant are you, its not something that is found in a book, its here right now. It's highly relevant because I was highlighting how people will fight continue endlessly about slavery and yet you cry apathy and "conspiracy" when its related to the actions of the government and what is taking place.
Oh I dont feel guilty in the slightest, you have no idea what it was like to experience slavery the same way that I have no idea what it must have been like to have been a complete serf in England until the Magna Carta was introduced. I said that there is conditioning because it doesnt matter where you go black people still feel that they are "owed" you hear it in hip hop music, you hear and see it in education, constantly talking about slavery. I mean ffs there is even a BBC programme called Black Britain in which slavery is still an important issue. Also what the hell is this about a lot of white people who were in that system are alive today? and the double standard is there because it exists, since slave trading still goes on today and it is only whites having black slaves which is mentioned, then there is your double standard, just because you choose to ignore doesnt make it any less real.

No, the majority of white people are like you and act like America is absolutely perfect the way it is now, and that it's 100% the fault of those lazy niggers for anything and everything that's wrong with black communities right now. If white folks were really "conditioned" to feel guilty about shit, we wouldn't even be having this debate.Personally, I don't expect or desire reparations, and I could care less if America wants to apologize "officially" or not, cause I don't think it's even in my place to accept the apology nor would I give a fuck anyway. I'd just prefer that (1.) Whitey stops denying that "the past" IS having an effect on what's going on today, and (2.) Trying to undermine certain social measures that might be necesary in the post-Civil Rights era, because they're paranoid of America becoming "socialist" or whatever. Besides, it ain't even slavery that bothers most of us anymore...it's segregation, and unlike slavery, MANY white people are still alive today who were around and active in that system, as are many black folks who were oppressed by it. So stop shouting "double-standard" and pointing to irrelevent examples when you're in no situation to talk that way...it's obvious you're trying hard as possible NOT to feel guilty.Quote from: virtuoso on April 09, 2006, 04:10:31 PMIt's amusing also that whilst people are so quick to be passionate about the slave trade and yet are completely apathetic to sweeping police powers which happened across europe and america which censor intimidate and make a mockery of peoples basic civil liberties. But of course. The "1984" shit from you just had to find its way into this topic at some point, never mind that it's completely irrelevent.
