1) In Europe that one is considered a defensive foul, because Nash moved too fast not to get a position but just to stop Kobe's dunk. Here in Europe they respect defenders who're just holding a position, not the ones who just wanna stop another one's dunk/layup. In the United States apparently the rules are the same (i'm talking about this aspect only), so it's a defensive foul. Then once again there in the States the refs thinks too much. I read about particular players being "protected" because of their status (something that in Europe doesn't exists: a foul is a foul), others hated, some fouls converted, some traveling not called, etc.. So i don't know. Let me judge how the rule should be: defensive foul. And i showed the action to my daddy, who was been an international FIBA ref for 15 years. Again: i dunno about the NBA, but that's a defensive foul applying the FIBA rules.

2) Premise: I have nothing but respect for Nash. This dunk is like Bynum's revenge to Shaq. If you "feel" the emotion behind it, that's the PLAY OF THE YEAR. If you don't care about the Lakers, then Shaq's dunk is better and this one can be an offensive foul. It's up to you. I'm a Laker fan, obviously. So, to me, both this dunk and Bynum's one are "special".
