We would like to welcome a new contributing writer to the team, forum member Phillyboy, who has been assigned the role of rejuvinating dubcnn's achillies heel; the review section. We have a look at the forthcoming album from Mitchy Slick on Angeles Records that we have been promoting all year entitled; "Urban Survival Syndrome".

The album review produces the "Dub-Quotable" "Mitch has successfully crafted the best album coming out of the San Diego area since...well since his own "Triggeration Station" and a rating of 4.5 out of 5.

I saw Mitchy Slicc perform while Quik was on tour in San Fran., L.A., and Diego and I wasn't impressed at all..Jayo Felony is 20 times the rapper Mitchy Slicc is and is one of the most succesful and popular artist to come out of Diego for a reason...It might be a good album, but saying it is the best album coming out of Deigo since his own is puttin too much on it....

Since 2001, if you ask the majority of people in SoCal, they will tell you the same as I did. The only album Jayo has released since 01 was Crip Hop, which was sloppy at best. Jayo WAS succesful and popular, but is irrelavent to the current music scene, and most likely will never release another high-quality album. Ecay Uno had a great album in 03 with Mental Scars, but nothing from Diego has matched the lyricism and  sound quality as the new Mitchy release. But I guess since your a tough crip, Mitch doesn't appeal to you.

And I appreciate all feedback, suggestions, etc., wheather positive or negative.

I gotta say Bass Chasers and the track with C-Bo were they 2 standouts imo. I still liked Triggeration Station a little better, but this is the 2nd best SoCal album of the year so far.

Keep the feedback coming, Obie's gonna be coming soon as well.

Mitchy doesn't appeal to me cuz I don't really like his style or the majority of his music, not cuz he his suppose to be affiliated with a blood gang....I didn't/don't have a problem with Mac 10, Quik, Game, or Mausberg etc, all whom have said to have had some kinda of affiliation with bloods and/or pirus...I don't have to ask the majority of So.Cal people, as I've seen the crowd participation at some of the shows he has performed at..

Then you yourself tell me who dropped a better album in Diego in the last 5 years.

Yeah Mitchy upped his skills alot. I just wish "Ice Cream Man" and "Too Triv" would've been on the album.

oh, I wouldn't say the best since "Triggeration Station". either you haven't heard or you just didn't want to include the I-Rocc "Center of Attention album" and Luni Coleone Presents "Anger Management", or Don Diego's album (forgot the name)

I-Rocc's album was cool, but it wasn't as good of quality as this new Mitchy. Luni's album was cool too but I'm comparing all these to U.S.S., I'm not saying there hasn't been dope music outta Dago in the past 5.
