It's a let down from what everyone hyped it up to be.
SHUT UP BITCH!this album sucks like your mom
Incognito, of course these raps are nothing special at all, when has warren ever been the man on tme mic. Warren is a producer first, he never even wanted to be an MC. His album's are a showcase for his production skills, and ROTR has him at his finest. It is fucking mindbogglin when people say the new album is not good cuz of his lyrics or how he is rapping! Warren G will never be on par with the likes of Nas or Ras kass, or even someone like Bad Ass or Tray Dee. However, while he isn't rippin the mic to pieces, he does have a great flow and makes great songs. Once again, if you are looking for fucking lyrics go elsewhere Incognito! Noone on this board ever hyped this album up to be a lyrical masterpiece, so why are you surprised???!!!! Some of you guys amaze me, like you just started listening to Warren G with this album; if you had actually listened to his shit before you would know his lyrics aren't the greatest! I love this album because of the beats, the hooks, Warren's laidback straightforward style, and because of the outstanding guest appearances (if you want lyrics on this album, Mista Grimm is incredible on 5 tracks)! Oh ya, fuck whoever judges an album by fucking sales! Soem of you guys are starting to piss me off, i know this is the net but i feel like pulling a Kurupt and Calling out Names! I mean, some of ya'll need to form your own fucking opinion of this cd instead of judging it by sales, or saying stupid shit like the "RAPS ARE NOTHING SPECIAL AT ALL"- Incognito! I mean, that is probably the dumbest statement i have ever heard from anyone, let alone someone who's opinion i have grown to respect on this board......
Teecee I agree 100% and must say... it's so right in my mind... A lot of people here will say G Funk Era was a classic album, yet... Warren never ripped it on the mic... Warren never will, yet for some reason, when they heard the album, they were expecting a battling MC... Minority gave the album 0/5 lyrics... first off... lyrics dont need to be tongue twisters... some of the dopest lyrics to ever grace Hip Hop came from a man called Slick Rick and he was anything but an MC... lyrics can deal with content just as much as delivery... if you want an MC... listen to Mista Grimm... he's all over the damn CD and he stands out so much... I never heard a Grimm verse until this album and he simply took full advantage... I think Grimm himself puts the lyrics in this album... I think that's why Warren wanted to use him too... He knows he is not an MC, so he gets someone who is and his delivery is straight fire... Warren's content and ideas are simply deep... I listened to the song Ghetto Village like 10 straight times and I still learn more... no CD has done that for me since NWA... when you put words together and you're left un-puzzling his verse, you know it's good... Warren's production is up to my expectations... I was expecting Gfunk and I got it... it's my favorite sound around and he delivered it.... then there are the hookmakers.... Butch, Nate, Kokane and Clinton... you can't find better... it seems like most people here just skimmed the tracks and skipped to the next... this album is so deep, so dope, so fresh I can't speak on it anymore... I should buy this album for everyone in my family... it is that dope... -Big BpG
