and dre can not go out with only 12 tracks.
Quote from: Addicted To Cake on September 18, 2006, 07:25:49 AMand dre can not go out with only 12 tracks. At this point, Dre can pretty much do what he wants. And to be honest, I'd rather he dropped 12 dope cuts than pad a CD out with fucking bullshit skits like the second half of 2001.
I didn't think that Busta track was Detox level......I'd say "Been through the storm" and "Don't get carried away" were though. If he only did 12 tracks, I wouldn't be mad because I'd probably love 4-6, like 3-4 a whole lot, then think 2-3 were just whatever.....regardless of how dope any artist is, I rarely like EVERY SINGLE TRACK....even 2001 had a few songs I would usually skip. Along with 2001, Doggystyle and Dogg Food are two of the only albums that I can listen to the entire way through, and I never liked "So much style" a whole lot, and I don't always feel like hearin "Serial Killer".I don't think I liked that storyline concept with the hooker dying though....it sounds corny, at least on paper.
Posted by Rebel, who never posts bs, on another forum. As of right now, Dre is still leaning towards the "12 Step" idea for DETOX. So don't be suprised if the album is 12 tracks. It probablly wont happened just like that. If you remember the old Knoc Turnal interview where he said Dre takes those 12 steps to "clean up" but slips every now and then. Mahagony recently said that there was once an idea of this wild bachelor party full of sex, drugs and alchahol and then a hooker tragically dies making Dre want to Detox. As far as songs that were written for the album, I know that one of them was Dre addressing everything people have made claims about or wondered (e.g. Suge, the whole "gay" thing, "stealing" beats, the 50/Game beef, his age..ect.). That was going to be the intro. track and was originally recorded over the "Get You Some" beat before Dre gave it to Busta in the last minute. You allready know the concept behind "IMAGINE" which was written for DETOX. Then Dre started going going back and forth to whether Buss should have it or keep it for himself. The fate of that song is still up in the air. There was a "bitch/party" track that was called "He Should've Fucked You Better" but I dont no know anything else about that one... and we know that Dre recorded a "Still DRE part 2-type" song basically reintroducing himself and boasting about his accomplishemnts (rumored to be over a J.R. beat that Dre will re-produce himself).
