Kenny Kingpin Street Album Single "Baller Boi" - October 21, 2006 By : Rud

Exactly twelves months ago we dropped an exclusive, in-depth video interview with Regime founder member; Kenny Kingpin. Back then we talked to the South Central Native, who was formally known as Poppa LQ, about his solo ambitions, his mixtape with Dow Jones, how the death of King Lou (R.I.P.) affected him and much more.

Since then he has been busy writing and recording new material and has got two of California's best DJ's together to work with him on his street album; "Richest of the Poorest, Poorest of the Richest."

The two DJ's in question are DJ Warrior and The Bay Area's DJ E-Rock who will be presenting the album which will include production from Blaqthoven, Bosko and Tone Touch amongst others. Guest appearences are set to include Yukmouth, Rick Ross, Kam, Bosko, Bo Roc and Bloodbath to name but a few.

We have the street album's lead single and potential new anthem entitled; "Ballar Boi" which is produced by Blaqthoven of Heatchambers/ Gain Green Records. In a recent press release the single is desvribed as "[Baller Boi] is the new west coast dance everybody is doing and the answer to "lean wit it, rock wit it" and "chicken noodle soup". It's not just a dance it's a way life."

Nice to see LQ back. He needs an all Bosko/DJ Quik produced record though.

Not to damage Poppa LaQuan's west coast reputation, but he also appeared on a song called "Cross Over" with Japanese Pop singer Namie Amuro. I'll post the verse on a later date. I need some OHHLA assistance.
