lol

check this article..

http://www.macworld.com/2003/08/reviews/900mhzibook/

but if i was you i would go with a new Mac Book (ibook)... i have used them and they run real well

www.apple.com/macbook

they start at 1,099 but with a educational discount you can get it for 1,049 ...

if u are looking to just buy the one you are talking about... it will run good... just not as snappy as a new one obviously...

i wouldnt pay anymore than around $500 - $600 (american) for it . . they retailed for $1,299 when they came out. august 2003 . . so it is now more than 3 years old... which can be a long time in computer years... but macs do last longer than pcs... i have a PowerMac G4 733mhz at home that i got in spring of 2001 that still does what i throw at it.... but its just not as snappy as the new machines of today obviously.

i think macs are the best for that sort of music/graphic stuff.  Call the mac help line, they are really good - I have an ibook and they ahve been totally on it.

As far as I understand you can't really compare Macs & PC's side by side.

The specs you posted seem a little low for video/photo editing, even for macs, IMO. Though I'm no expert since my experience with Macs is very limited.

And DVD burners - here you can get a good, external burner for about 70-80€ (90-100 or so USD), but with external drives there's always the fact that the data transfer speed to and from the drive is slower than with internal drives. And I'm pretty sure you can't get an internal drive for that model anymore (besides, adding stuff to notebook computers after purchase is always pretty expensive since you can't do it yourself (usually)).

If you got the cash, I'd just buy a new MacBook with the stuff you need. My bro just got one a couple months ago and he says it's the best computer he ever bought.

thanks for all the help...

the video/photo ewditing i'm talking about is basic stuff, just re arranging video, adding text, small shit, and just resizing photos, removing red eye... real basic operations, not graphic design stuff..

Well for basic stuff like that it should probably be okay. But try to talk to somebody who's good with Macs, 'cause I can't be sure.
