Expectations For Slim Shady's Third Album?
« on: October 27, 2001, 12:26:22 PM »
Em said his third album will be more emotional, and dark...with less comedic songs dropping next year.  We know he's dones tracks with Dr. Dre & Mel-Man so far, and that Xzibit will be on aboard for the record too.

What do you guys wanna see from Eminem this time around?
You think his album will pack any OUTSIDE artists besides his regular camp of Dre, Xzibit & D-12?  That would be nice, wonder if we'll see peeps like that.  I'd like to see a collabo with like Ice Cube, or someone from the East coast. Please not Bubba Sparxxx.

Production?  Dre will still executive produce it, but will his own tracks be up there wit the number on MMLP?  Em has been flexing his muscles as a producer, "Don't Approach Me," "Renegades" & "These Drugs."  He did a lot of stuff on "Devil's Night."  So we'll see how much production Em will take on by himself.  I doubt this, but I hope Eminem doesn't grab The Neptunes or Rockwilda...stick with Dre, Mel-Man, FBT & yourself.

The D-12 album was too much like "The Marshall Mathers LP."  More shocking shit that gets played out fast.  I'm glad this next album is promised to be a different vibe.

I just hope the first single will be something more anti-teenie bopper friendly like his previous debut singles, "My Name Is," and "The Real Slim Shady."  He could shed some of those fans, bu the would loose record sales.  It's not Em's choice though.

I'm sorta fiending for more songs like Stan (which was my favorite track on mmlp, atleast until it got played out), I guess I'm gonna be satisfied with whutever he puts out. The only thing I don't wanna hear is 18+ tracks which only deals with homofobic issues, though those tracks can be funny as hell, keep it down to atleast 3-4 songs with that topic.

yeah i agree with y'all that less comedy on this joint, but he still needs to have sum like u said, to sell more copies. i liked his first album alot, even though they were a few classics on MMLP.eg, stan. whihc was deep sick shit man.lol, but original shit. i liked bitch please 2 aswell, but like hopefully he'll do a few more songs with this time with some of his aftermath family, eg, hittman and rakim. well thats what im hoping from his album....but i bet that neither of them will appear on his album. i think his Shady records artist Obie Trice will probably make a few appearances on it cuz his new and if they have D12 on the album, i hope its only proof cuz personally i think he is the best rapper outta D12.

peace

p.s. when in 2002 is it comin out?

I'm guessing...

He will slow down with the shock rap, but use some elements of it...He will have about 3-5 tracks by Dre, and will be much more lyrical than "MMLP" or "Devils Night." Most likely he will also mature more, and since this wont be as poppy as "MMLP" it will only go 2-3 times platinum...Also about 2-4 tracks with members of D12. It'll have 1-2 tracks with Dre rapping, one track with Royce, 2 tracks with Xzibit (one of them with Nate, Dre, Hittman, and Snoop rapping together like maybe a B Please 3), one with Truth Hurts on the Hook, and one of the greatest lyrical songs ever with Rakim...

Well thats just my guess...Peace

well i wouldnt complain if thats how it happened! man that would be dope, and like i think maybe if he did do that, i think it would go more tham 3 times platinum if thats what did happen. if any other rapper on the album that would make it even better, id probably choose someone like redman, cuz they both rap sharp or a song with crooked i......that's never happen though!

Didn't he say all that in an interview? LMAO

He won't "mature", he'll just go back to SSLP/Infinite style stuff.

And you never asked for your tape of Infinite, NIK!

NO...'The Eminem LP'...what else is left?  Anyway, Eminem said when D-12 was about to drop he wouldn't drop another solo joint intill 2002.  My opinion of other Aftermath acts on Em's next album...we'd all like to see them happen to make everyone happy like Death Row and how they kept in in the fam.  But, Aftermath is more diverse, and not everything is set in stone y'all.  A track with Rakim would be dope and would fit great.  Don't know how far you could go with Truth though, only if it's for hook use only.  Hittman I don't know, don't see them getting together.  I wanna see the first single be a dark song with Dre rappin on it.  Also, I think it wouldn't hurt if Eminem had some outta town producers like Alchemist?  That would be ill, just no Neptunes.  Scott Storch would be good too.

I think Eminem is going to prove to people on this album that he's a good person, and that his message of overcoming has been previously misunderstood.

Never looked at it that way.  That would turn out interesting.
