Dr Dre sampled so much music so I wouldnt say he invented anything.

G funk is taking p funk, tightening up the instrumentation, looping the best catchiest part of a funk song, adding smooth gangster shit to it. no doubt g funk is built on a foundation of p funk but george clinton did not create g funk. he created p funk. i see what you're saying, but saying clinton invented g funk is like saying the dude that invented the blues invented rock and roll..it's like yeah, rock n roll certainly owes the blues the debt but that doesn't make the creator the same.hah, yousa cool cat, we're debating in like 3 threads simultaneously.-T

I thought the Blood guy meant where it came from, or where it originated at.
i think dre certanly started the g-funk i allways felt like d.o.c let the bass go was some of dres early g-funk sound but thats just me but the g-funk definetly started in the ruthless days as we know dre took it to the next level on his album the chronic witch to me was basically a break beat records because almost every track was a sample but thats where the g-funk gets it sound. and all of dres hits from the dr era all came from a sample nevertheless dre is one of the best producers in the game today and the music he makes is top notch!
