Mayweather Wins By Split Decision!!!

He had a chance to brutally beat De La Hoya, but De la hoya stopped throwing his jab because Mayweather was countering it well.  That left Oscar to do some body punches and going for his left hook, both would always get blocked by or miss Mayweather.  It was an easy win for Mayweather and it should have been unanimous as well. 

Yeah but as Rik said, it still sucked and with all the attention and old fans coming back it did nothing to bring interest back to the sport. If this had been a war then it would have been great for all parties but because it was a safe fight for points it does nothing. I think they'll have one big money fight left with Hopkins and Mayweather and that fight depends on the weight class. In welter it could be Mayweather by points. In middle class I can't see Hopkins doing anything but winning with a KO and that's what boxing would need. He'd be billed like a light weight Foreman when Foreman made his comeback.

Also, the proposed Mayweather Sean Shirk fight with its boxing vs MMA sell would be absolutely huge money and huge popularity increase for which ever side wins.

what i really wanted to see anyway was shane mosley - floyd mayweather, i think that fight would have been more interesting

man everyone knew mayweather was winning that fight.. the funny thing is floyd was 5 pounds the lighter and he still dominated oscar of course hes not going to get in a slug fest with oscar that would have been retarded.. oscar will tell you himself he had trouble hitting floyd and if you doubt that look at the compubox numbers..floyd landed 40% of his punchs..

i already said mayweather was about to win, his extremely skillful, aint no denying that BUT the fight was a dissapointment.....

fact is mayweather looked much much lighter than oscar and this was his first fight at that weight and still won...i like oscar, he a good guy but mayweather is not as bad a nigga as the media and HIMSELF play him out to be....i could go soo much more in depth but you know when you feel like you could type for ever on a subject but at the current moment, have no energy to do so....well this is that moment

i was definently dissappointed in mayweather. i thought he would of atleast throw more punches and not of ran so much like he did. but overall that his style and it got him the W. im probably the only mexican that wasent pissed off on cinco de mayo lol. i really would of guessed they judged it a draw.

i also liked when mayweather kind of staggered de la hoya with a wicked uppercut but i gotta give de la props becuase he still moved forward on that ass...

ii had it 4 rounds for de la and 8 rounds for mayweather
