What yall think of DMX ?

ive heard a lot of opinions on ja rule, jay-z, nas but i never hear anyone talk about DMX. so what yall think of him? hate him, like him. what yall hate about him. what yall like about him?

i just want to clear of few things up before i tear into him


i don't hate dmx i just see through his image


ok first of all when dmx was first starting out his whole style was different as hell, he wasn't on any of this emotionally tortured soul/sensitive thug thing that he took from pac....he was on some gothic rap shit, that wasn't getting him anywhere ...so he had to leach onto what would get him imediate success


you see dmx didn't get any popularity until pac died...everybody in the industry was mourning his losss and of corse people who loved pac are going to flauk to a second rate version... which dmx is, his whole thing is a pac blueprint for success, and most of his fans are fans who loved pac


but besides that the reason why i don't get into dmx's music, is that they lack lyrical creativity and becuase his flow is more choppy than a chinese chef with  some onions and a butcher's knife

his first album was a pretty good well packaged and marketed album when it first came out i woulda gave him 4 mics maybe 4.5 becuase the tracks were catchy and the beats were fresh...at the time....but now it's really just 3 mic novelty becuase it gets old after a while ....then his second album is a horrible mess and his 3rd was just a corprate record (3 radio singles) and the rest was filler

in my opinion dmx is just a corprate rapper....a well crafted well marketed hard core rapper molded from a sucessful gimack...in my eyez he's no better than nelly...he just raps more profanities and has a deeper voice

I Love his 1st album.

His 2nd was so so.

His 3rd was mainly Ballz.

From what i've heard his 4th album should be good (i hope) coz he's suppose to go back to his original album style.

Anyway to answer the question, when he came out he was good now he is ballz.

Never felt anything DMX ever put out, its like Jake said 'i dont hate him i just see through his image', and as for the Ruff Riders, i aint got no love for them either...

his first cd is the best, but i think that he made 3 versions of the same album. his flow get annoying 2 when you on track 13 or some shit like that

i like dmx...i thought his third cd was looked too much at those 3 singles which sucked...there were some quality tracks on there but i really don't have the time to elaborate...his second album wasn't very well put together possibly because it was released the same year as his debut but i still liked it...his first cd was close to a gem imo but not classic...as for dmx tryin to be like pac i wouldn't say so...i've watched backstage and all them dudes on there say dmx is the most street grimy person you will meet...so when he talks about the streets he ain't bullshitten...i've also heard a new song by dmx on the radio yesterday and it sounded good, nothing amazing, but nothing clubbish which is good...oh yeah and i also really liked "ain't no sunshine", peace.

He's aight, I like his tha shit he raps about, reminds me of pac, but he lacks Pac's lyricall attacks. He's gotta come out wit more diversity. Dats all.

I think he barks too much. It may be his little trademark or gimmick but it is hella annoying.

IMO he's aight. I can see where peeps b talking about him resembling Pac as he has that deep steady flow but like tha7th said he lacks Pac's lyrical skills. He comes across as fake as IMO he tries a l'il 2 hard with that raw street image. I own all his albums & the first is no doubt his best effort, it was fresh & dynamic at the time but like Jake said it fades. He's pretty average when it comes 2 lyrical content but IMO he CAN pack heat.

ok just like Jake said hes a fake Pac he cant flow like PAc he talk Pac's blueprint to sucess the whole Ride Or Die Pac Started the praying and all that deep thug stuff all Pac if Pac hadnt died DMX would have never got popular but now people are startin to see that hes fake hes not hard.I never felt anything he dropped and personaly I think he should call it quits. As far as the Ruff Ryders go they are wack with the exceptions of Jadakiss and Eve all those other niggaz can suck a fat dick

this isnt aimed at jake im just responding to all yall and givin yall my opinion

well you put him on the same level as nelly huh. DMX doesnt have the pop half singing album like nelly does and  you gotta admit X's lyrics are better than nelly's. and of course everyone wants succes so i gues he had to do something to get there. and this guy has never bragged about his car ,money, ice like nelly, CMR, jigga, does. this guy is always wearin a dog chain and some pants. so i wouldnt put him on that level but not on Snoop's level either.

i think hes ok but better than a lot of other shit out there. and you cant just say hes the only one who bites pac and you dont like him for that cause  everyone wants to be like him or bites him or uses him for succes , nas, jigga, lil zane,Ja Rule, No limit, tha realest, DR and a lot more people have i just cant remember. and ya know  everyone bites him.

and X has a lot of real songs which a lot of other rappers dont.and X talks about a lot of real shit.and hes signed to a reall succesfull label so ya know they want their artist succesfull so their gonna market it. so many rappers out there today are so fake and putting him on the same level just isnt right but thats just your(anyone) opinion. if ya just feel him then i gues you dont. i cant do anything about it. but if you dont like him cause of his info and biting pac thats bullshit cause you cant say " i dont like x cause hes just like pac and has a bald head and runs around without a shirt like him". DMX is nothing compared to pac.

some of you just dont like him cause of his mtv commercial succes but yall should listen to his music deeper. as i said before if ya don feel him then ohwell thats your opinion. and this is just mine. he might not be the best rapper out there but i wouldnt say he sucks.
