Dre's best era,  beat wise
« on: July 24, 2001, 10:21:24 PM »
What yall think theres tha
NWA era 1987-91
G-Funk - 92-93 ( chronic & doggystyle)
I dont know what to label this era, 94-96 i.e. natural born killaz, cali love,  lady heroin,  keep the heads ringin.
Futaristic sound- 97- present

I gotta go wit the 94-96 era,  even though there are a limited amount of tracks this is my personal fav but 92-93 is right up there.

its almost depressing if u look at the last page of all eyez on me when it says upcoming releases,  u had tha chronic 2 an tha doggfather would had dre's production all over it an sam sneed's album was comin out.  Those 3 c.d.'s would of been classics instead sam sneeds an tha chronic 2 were never released :'(  tha doggfather was an alright cd.  Dre also had j-flexx comin out soon 2 but dre left an j-flexx's career went nowhere :'(  just imagine what could of been.  Shit death row would still be cashing from that big time

"The Wash" soundtrack will be the begining...after that we will no longer have to refer to his older stuff as his "def"inition

my opinion........Hatesrats  2001

Doggystyle/Chronic
The Firm/Aftermath (the underrated era)

I'm not feelin the 2001shit , but he's impressed me with his latest work (Bilal , Mary J).
I think he's back , i mean really back to the Dre Level.

If I had to choose, I'd go for the G-Funk era.  But, his new shit is off the heezy too.
