Classic to me. Snoop showed impressive lyrical maturity (kinda regressed with his following CDs) and the beats were generally outstanding.

I can remember reading NME's review of this album (they trashed it) and thinking, "What the fuck were they listening to?" They accused it of basically being more of the same from Snoop. That's bullshit. Lyrically, this was almost certainly his most diverse offering. "Tha Last Meal" was actually an incredibly introspective record - just look at "Issues," "Y'all Gon' Miss Me," and "Go Away." Snoop got really personal on those cuts.

Oh yeah, and you can tell that Dre's prints are all over this album.
