Game Over

LOL at this PS3 groupie. It's not over till the fat bitch sings, there are other big film companies that might go HDDVD that might swing Warner Bro's to change. People said the same thing "game-over" when some porn industry chose Blue-ray. More people are buying HD-DVD players than Blue-ray players, but Blue-ray is winning in CD sales because of the PS3.

Groupie?  No need for insults. I just wanted a format to win so I can start my collection without worries. HDDVD's are selling because of the huge discount that companies are selling them for.  For a while, Wal Mart was selling HDVDs for 100 dollars lol. Name those big companies that might go HD-DVD.  Warner Bros was the last huge company that was still undecided. It's only a matter a time that the lonely 2 companies that are on HD DVD will switch to BluRay exclusive.

Sony
Disney
Warner Bros
20th Century Fox
Lions Gate

vs

Paramount/Dreamworks
Universal

It's over.  There is no way that HD DVD will make a comeback.

Blu Ray outsold HD by 40million this year...

Like he said, game over.  This was the backbreaker.

I don't really follow the whole blueray vs hd thing, but like Mr. Javii said - I'm waiting for this to get settled so I can start my collection.

It's not only the movie studios that decide this, 'cause HDDVD or Blu-Ray will be the next media for data use too. Both have plenty of companies backing them.

Microsoft backs HDDVD, but they're only doing it to drag out the "format war" as long as possible and to eventually run both of them into the ground. They want everything delivered digitally online so they can really build up on their Live service (of which XBox Live is a part of).

^^^^Precisely. T-Dogg & Javii know what's up. My brother has been following this format war since the beginning and basically every day I get an update from him on what exactly is going on in the world of HD DVD vs. Blu-Ray 8)

I'm also glad to see that Blu-Ray has won.

if you guys buy any blu rays or Hd dvds at Frys or best buy as of late you can see that blu ray has alot more and better selection than hddvd.I owned a ps3 since day 1 and ive been buying blurays since day 1 because i had no doubt that they would eventually come out on top.

BluRay is made for High Definition TV's.  BluRay players also have DVD playback, but you can't play a bluray disc on a DVD player.
