Eminems albums "The Slim Shady LP" is at 4x and has scanned over 5, "MMLP" has scanned over 10 million in the US but is at 9x Platinum and "The Eminem Show" is just about at 10 million yet is only at 8x Plat, its not like Jimmy does not have the money, maybe there are underlying reasons as you said who knows
