thanks for sharing your opinion, but i would say Cube and the new west movement is keeping it alive. If there were no up and coming rappers, snoop was doing pop(as he is) and cube was just doing movies, then yes, the west coast would be dead.

Well, Westcoast is gangsta rap and thats how it is period. It aint about them still rappin about gangsta shit. Eastcoast still rappin same shit and they waaay more behind us when it comes to the mainstream. Its just that now everybody is on that "swag shit", look around all the kids (especially black kids) in the west, south, east etc walkin around tryin to be fresh, wearin tight jeans and all that.

And then who are really buyin albums nowadays? Grown ups? Pleeease. People from the old school dont wanna support ANYTHING from the new school just because its new school. They only buy albums when its legends. And then when you have people like Game (even though he's very succesfull), Jay Rock, Ya Boy etc how are they supposed to come up with no one supportin them or buyin there shit? Its mostly kids and females who buy albums even though a lot of them also donwload. So if its kids who buy albums, thats what BET, Radio Stations and etc are gonna promote it to because the more they play it the more they cash in from advertising and whatnot. So when you look at it who are the rappers thats really "representin" that "fly" style, tight jeans, v-neck shirt and all that? Lil Wayne, Juelz Santana, Jim Jones, Soulja Boy etc.  So because of that these kids identify themselves with those rappers and thats why they get so much play and interest while the westcoast don't.

You got this dude above who said that if it wasnt for Cube and etc it would been dead. What about Game? No props to him? He been doin more for the west coast (AS IN THESE LAST YEARS) than Cube and etc.

Westcoast need to start workin together and fucking SUPPORT each other, the fans and the rappers. Niggas in the south know Lil Wayne the fakest thug there ever been in the industry but STILL everybody in the south supports him. On the westcoast everybody wanna know their background and cant stand seein other dudes on top. Im not talkin bout Snoop, Game or anybody else, just in general.
