Bishop Lamont RimeMag Interview
« on: June 10, 2009, 07:43:01 PM »
http://rimemagazine.com/video.php?id=134

Talks about:

Says,

His rap name comes from his Auntie and a comment Snoop made.

Getting a record deal just happened.  That is, he recorded music after working construction to release stress.

Says Dr.Dre's perfectionism to hip-hop is what takes him so long.

The Reformation tries to cover every aspect of his life - race, struggle, politics, god, relationships, clubs, strip clubs, etc.

Grow Up was a reflection of himself.

He is listening to Ryan Leslie, Jamie Foxx, Dream, Nirvana's Nevermind, and Black Milk.

You will see The Game and him do a record.  He's at where he's supposed to be.  His work ethic speaks for himself.  His reputation (Bishop) proceeds himself.  He says to stop asking him about Game.

Says his 5 year plan is to be hanging with Oprah and Bill Gates.  He says he'll be retired in 5 years and will only release 3, maybe 4 albums.

There are playing "Hard Life"in the background of the video,i thought this was a fake but apparently it's not one.

Btw,i sincerely hope bishop is gonna to blow up,he deserves it more than some other rappers,he's like the fresh air needed by the mainstream world...

thanks for the summary, as i don't want to download quicktime player.

i don't think Bishop will ever do a song with Game: he's just being diplomatic.

anyway i'm waiting for a deeper interview with Bishop.
some things need to be addressed.

-is there any tension between him and Slim the mobster
- will he follow Stat Quo's path
- why it's been relatively quiet around him, since the release of Grow Up

Damm I can't believe I've been waiting on The Reformation since 2005. That's 4 years... Crazy. I remember they used to play "Do It" on the radio and I was hyped that his album would drop in 2006 or something, now it's 2009 and I don't think it will drop til 2010... damn

It's a shame he couldn't release his album already... "Grow Up" had potential in my eyes.

Co-sign. His streets albums are pure heat & are better than almost hip hop albums released the last 2- 3 years.

He definitely deserve to blow up even if i don't think he will

Youtube link for the Quicktime impaired:

Bishop needs to get out there as he is the right type of rapper for now, a complete artist. Just a damn shame that he will probably never drop in the form that he has now...

Based on that video he seems pretty convinced that he's going to blow up commercially within 2 or so years.  He said in 5 years he'll be retired which seems like a bullshit comment to make but ...eh.... he's been making moves for a long time and has been quiet lately which probably has helped image.   From what I've heard, he's pretty well connected beyond Dr.Dre - whom his haters tend to focus on.  Dude's been making plenty of moves.
