my mans Mark Cuban is one of my favorite NBA personalities, never ceases to make me a bigger fan of him day in & day out lol.

Quote
“We do performance-enhancing things all the time, just not steroids. .... If you administer them properly and fairly and set the rules strictly, as long as in doing so we recognize there are no negative long-term health-impact issues.”
-- Mark Cuban

i can understand where he is coming from & can in principal agree with him, but it's never good to have drugs around & it fucks up records.

then all the "*" come out & the "if's" & "but's", where "if" he didn't do steriods, he couldn't of done this & how players back in the day didn't have access to them so how is it fair that these guys get the advantage.

& before you know it, kids at young ages will be taking them if they are allowed, so imagine what kids coming up in 10 years will look like if they juice up at the age of 12-13; fucking monsters. :o

if they started at 12 they'd probably never make it to begin with. Just working out at that age fucks you up. Imagine working out with steroids.

Not true, taking steroids at that age will definitely mess you up. But there are like 13 14 year old power lifters that live completely normal lives.

power lifters benefit from growth stunts. They stay shorter and their centre of gravity is lower. Everyone else would not benefit.

We were talking about power lifting, not body building. Whether it makes you shorter or not, it's still a benefit if you are short and stocky.

We were talking about weight lifters in general. power lifters are weight lifters. did you even read myth number 6? Most kids don't use proper form when they lift, start off too heavy and may damage their growth plates this way. thats the only way. otherwise there isnt much evidence to support weightlifting stunts your growth. hell i started lifting at 13/14 and i ended up at 6'1

Power lifting is all about starting off too heavy. Either way who cares. I'm no expert on growth stunting. Someone else said it fucks you up. I just took his word for it and said even if, a power lifter should be shorter anyway. How many tall man do you see in the olympics lifting 300 lbs over their head?

They start out too heavy without using proper form. I use to believe weightlifting stunted your growth as well, until I looked into a couple of years ago. Shorter people happen to excel at power lifting, they find their niche. Especially in the olympics where you are competing with the best of the best. It's the same reason you don't see 5'5 people playing in the NBA. I'm sure there are some shorter people who are great basketball players. But why have a 5'5 guy that can shoot 3's on your team when you can have a 6'3 guy that can do the same thing plus can defend better because of his height?
