Without question, Public Enemy has some of the most important, groundbreaking and critically acclaimed releases in all of music history. thanks for part 2  :)

speaking of instrumentals, i don't really feel most of Public Enemy's stuff, imo they're monotone. including speeches is dope though!  8)

Rebirth of a nation is their best album to me, as it brought the best of both worlds.

i disagree with Chuck, that having one voice on a whole album makes it boring: i think it really depends on the artist, but including speeches and such can make records stronger.

anyway, looking forward to part 3: i don't mind going back, but hopefully you also went through the more recent years ;)

It's very cool you mention 'Rebirth of a Nation" as their best, as most people say either "It Takes A Nation" or "Fear of A Black Planet" as the fav PE albums.  We talked to Chuck about past, present and future no doubt.  Thanks for the feeback...

You wouldn't say that Chuck D is west coast relevant? I mean, think about his fingerprints on Amerikkka's Most Wanted with Ice Cube, Sir Jinx and The Bomb Squad.  What about, "Burn Hollywood Burn" with Ice Cube and Big Daddy Kane from Fear of a Black Planet?

A lot of people don’t realize that Chuck D (as Carl Ridenhour, also known as Carl Ryder) was a producer in The Bomb Squad, which he breaks down in these interviews.  Public Enemy transcends any “east coast – west coast” label - - as they were a pioneer for all of hip-hop culture worldwide.

Haven't had a chance to read this 2nd part yet but I'm certainly looking forward to doing so.  Chuck is the man.  Props to DubCNN for these types of interviews with straight up LEGENDS.
