Dj Quik fell off 3 bad albums in a row
« on: April 15, 2010, 10:04:58 PM »
1.under the influence = couple good songs , too many fillers
2. Trauma -  i never listen to this cd anymore , but i used to like 2 songs .
3. Blaqout - First 3 songs are good , the rest is generic misguided noise ..

Is it time for Mr Quik to retire and just stick to producing now ?

Man fuck the haters, all 3 of these albums were dope. Most people with ears agree that Influence and Trauma were dope. Opinions are gonna change about Blaqkout after a while. Its only 12 tracks, and some of them are hella wack, but I'd say there are 7 tracks that range from "pretty good" to "best songs in years."

I gotta agree.  Quik has been on a steady decline.  Last album I liked from him that was an overall dope album was Safe & Sound.

Dopest Quik albums:
Quik Is The Name
Way 2 Fonky
Safe & Sound
Rythm-A-Lism

After that, it becomes blurry.

I started to lose interest in Quik after Rythm-A-Lism, not to say it was a bad album it just wasnt that great compared to his old shit. Trauma...I liked a few songs off that it wasnt all good tho. BlakQout sucked bad, the only song I actually like is 9x Outta 10. I think I'm over Quik, I think he should retire aswell along with Warren G his latest shit aint G-Funk and thats what I want to remember him for
