Da Game or Paid the Cost
« on: December 07, 2002, 05:39:05 PM »
nuckles said in an earlier thread that "Woof" was a better single then "Church to the Palace".  I agree with him.  The Neptunes are wack.  And it's sad when the West Coasts All Time Great had to go to the Neptunes to get a hit.

And No Limit was dope back in the day.  Maybe they were just studio gangsta's but when I was 16 years old I thought they were some pretty thugged out dudes.  Atleast Da Game record was home grown as far as being straight up No Limit style album.  With Snoop as the lead character.

But Paid the Cost is a sellout album.  It's like he can't make great music anymore so he tried to go out and buy an album.  It doesn't sound West Coast, it doesn't sound like the South, it's all over the place.  It has no focus and no distinct sound or concept.  It's just trash.

Snoop better be calling Warren G, and having him call Dre's mom to find out what Dre changed his new cell-phone number to.

paid da cost is a great album.  this forum is full of haterz.  If u don't like it, don't buy it and don't listen to it, but stop the fucking complaining and hating on this album cause it isn't going to change a thing.

I did buy it.  And I'm mad.  And it has changed a thing cause Snoop ain't even selling 200,000.  It's a simple concept.  Put Dre on the album and it's dope.  Leave Dre off and it's wack.

I dunno, I don't even play PTCTBTV in my player no more.  "Still A G Thang" is better than anything on the new Snoop easily.  "Show Me Love" is also one of my fav Snoop joints of all time as well.  I dunno which is better cause Paid had more good joints.

I am in no way a snoop dogg dickrider.  I like him and I bump his music, but I bump many other artists just as much and even more.  This isn't the best album to drop this year for me.  I like albums like under the influence, just tryiin ta live, ghetto heisman, mack 10 presents da hood, who ride wit us vol 2, generals list, life as a ryder, and others pretty much along the same lines as paid da cost.  It is not some super great album, but it is good.  I know there are hella snoop dickriders on this forum, and it seems like most of the forum is hating on this album.

Off point.
That is a fan of the Westcoast sound, and NOT a dickrider.
A dickrider is a person who likes anything about a certain person/object/whatever it might be. (In rap-terms, likes all the favorite rappers albums & lyrics/beats even how strange/boring it might be)
How is it possible to be a dickrider of the Westcoast sound and type of music?

Anyways, I think "Paid the cost" is a few knotches better than "The Game", but the jury is still on it..

infinite i agree with you however i dont think no dre means its a wack record

i love Doggfather

but honestly i see Nas spittin some lyrics over east coast beats and look at his new video pure street

why the fuck does Snoop feel he has to rap over neptunes beats in order to be relevant

Fred Wreck, DJ Quik, Pooh, Dre, Daz, Battle Cat, Meech, LT Hutton

only people that should produce a Snoop record
"One day Alice came to a fork in the road and saw a Cheshire cat in a tree. "Which road do I take?" she asked. "Where do you want to go?" was his response. "I don't know," Alice answered. "Then," said the cat, "it doesn't matter."
