the problem is that the production sounds on every track the same.. dont know how many producers no limit had ;D

Quote from: Soopafly DPGC about his hands
I don't live for the man, but I do study him so I can hope my pimp hands one day become as strong as his. When i first started listening to him, my hands were only strong enough to crush a beetle.  Now that i've studied him for 15 years, my hands are strong enough to crush a dog.

Yeah at first it was a cool lil novelty for a west coast cat to rap over southern fried beats... but fuck that 1st NL album was hella repetitive, production-wise. The 2nd album was better, due to the fact he was allowed to have outside producers (QUik, Cat, I think Dre, etc) but the rest was straight BBDP production.

In retrospect there were a few bangers, but the real issue was P's hold on using those inhouse Beayts By tHe pound producers. Welcome 2 My World, the opening track off Game Is To Be... is still on rotation on ipod, classic shit  8)

Last Meal and No Limit Top Dogg are great albums by Snoop.  Close to classic albums in my opinion.

actually no limit fell off when they stopped fucking with BBTP...since p owned the name he was letting any motherfucker that made a track at no limit put it under BBTP...BBTP left master p and regrouped as the medicine men....i always thought they had a good sound until they started getting watered down and over exposed.

Yeah, I remember Eiht saying this in the source magazine. He just didn't like their sound. Anyways, I think it was foolish career move on his part not to join snoop when he had a chance. Missed out on having a platinum record. Master P promoted his artists properly, unlike Mack 10.

I didn't like most of DGITBSNTBT and NL Top Dogg back then.

But like 4-5 years ago, I went through a hardcore No Limit phase and started to like all of that Beats by tha Pound shit. No Limit had some mad dope records to that time. "The Shocker" or "TRU" for example. I have to admit, that Snoop's first two No Limit albums also have mostly dope production and it's funny to listen to them now. It's great entertainment.

I think some records have to get old like good whine before you can enjoy them.
Back then, everybody was expecting some west coast shit from Snoop and all that. But if you take the first NL album for example and just judge the music on it without the expectations from back then, it's a cool album. Especially the funny mixture between Snoop and Mystikal.

And before I forget it: I always liked "DP Gangsta", C-Murder has a nice verse on this one.
