in my defense the only threads that both of us post in are Football related. we all know about your love for Ronaldo; and everyone knows that I (and most Englishmen) dislike him. it's not personal.

i don't agree with that. i won't deny that he is a good player, but for me, he is not the best, not the second, not even the third best player in the world. arguably the top three players in the world all play for the same team.

Ronaldo wasn't good, fact. His pass was brilliant, he tried in the first half, but that's it. Wow, he had 2 freekicks, how amazing and special Whereas Messi had alot of good scenes (doesn't matter if Xavi or Iniesta were better).
Messi and Ronaldo could've switched teams and the outcome would've been the same. Messi played in a team that worked, Ronaldo didn't. Messi played better, but it wasn't a miracle since Barca as a whole was on another level and Real was broken.

Basicially you wanted to downplay Messi's performance and do the opposite with Ronaldo's. That alone is more than funny.

Because I knew Ronaldo's haters would have a field day with this although he did not play bad at all, it was the players around him that looked like amateurs. & with soccer being a team sport, Ronaldo couldn't do anything about it. But I know how many people hate him, & they would look past that & try to unfairly pin this on him (I was right - Many in this thread have directed there posts solely at Ronaldo & complaining about his "attitude" and lack of showing up in big games which I believe is incorrect but that's another story). Meaning the Ronaldo haters point the finger at him with any remote chance that presents itself.

His national team was in a Euro semi final in 2000, Euro final in 2004, World Cup Semi Final in 2006, Lost in the quarters to the runner up in Euro 08 & Lost to the winner of World Cup '10. They hardly suck

ibra has barely scored like 5 goals this season and except a couple they werent anything special.  EPL is kinda like la liga too as far as how easy balls just get deflected in, high speed game with lots of space given to players, look at how balotelli is tearing it up in man city now where he barely scored in serie A.  Ronaldo would not score in those leagues cuz of better defense and the league is more competition and evened out.  Sure when ur in man u. and real with all the quality players while rest of league is getting raped its not that hard to score a for a player like ronaldo.  And those national team campaigns, take a look at the results, always penalties or 1-0 with ronaldo hardly scoring....like 2010 wc they only scored on n. korea and no one else.

Its strange how players throughout the world rate him (PFA player of the year 2 years running) but fans don't rate him, the simple fact is people hate him because of how he acts. If he acted how messi does and played exactly how he does now everyone would like him.

as a player, i love watching him, coz he is immense when he's at the top of his game. i don't like him though coz of how whiny, arrogant etc he is. but i'm never gonna have to meet him, so i can accept him for his footballing abilities

ya i dont mean to be a hater, im quite not fond of people picking on him so much although he does it to himself.  He is no doubt a great player, i just dont think he's as great as people make him out to be.  He's more show than brains.  If he was a champion he'd be smarter and probably would have more trophies but he prefers to be a jackass, some love him, some hate him.
