LOL, what? Nobody overrates Sanchez. You can say the Jets are overrated, but not even Jets fans say Sanchez is "great".

We're well aware our run game, defense & offensive line is what we're built on. Sanchez is basically just told to not turn the ball over.

I remember talking to Luna about VY & Sanchez & specifically saying, neither is in the Top 20.

Romo is overrated because up until last year, he was in the same discussions as Peyton, Brady, Brees & Big Ben.

Brady never would have lasted in Dallas. The other three would have been fine. They don't have the run or the screen game. He would have done as well as Bledsoe did. Brees and especially Ben can make plays with their legs, and that's what won Romo the job. Bledsoe was getting killed out there with not enough time for routes to develop. Same withing would have happened to Brady. Peyton's used to making tighter throws in 2 seconds he would have been fine.

That being said I'm not saying Romo would have 3 SBs on NE. Maybe his nerves would have gotten to him and a couple bad mistakes would have killed him. But maybe he'll end up with McDaniels next year and they win a SB. All I'm saying is Brady on Dallas would have not worked and wouldn't work now. Williams wouldn't take his shit. Austen would get sick of him. Owens would have punched him the face if he ragged on him like he does some of the guys on NE. Brady and Witten probably would have been a great pair. But Brady comes off as naggy and whiny. It's not like Kitna who may very well fist fight you in the back. Brady's never taken or thrown a punch in his life I bet.

That wasn't my point though.

It's that considering Sanchez overrated because he thinks people overrate the Jets is silly; no Jets fan thinks he's that good.

Romo on the other hand, was considered "great" two seasons ago. That's overrating him.

Shallow, give my your opinion on IF Jeff Garcia played for the '85 Bears & played against the '85 Pats with Brady, Asomugah & Revis.

Then break down a repeat of the '03 World Series, IF Joe DiMaggio came back with Mickey Rivers for the Yanks.

I'm not responding to the Sanchez comment because I had no beef with it. But calling Romo not great because of how he played two seasons ago and calling Brady great when I think he'd have done worse on the Cowboys two seasons than Romo did is a part of your point. Now I'm not saying Romo is better than Brady. I'm saying that Romo was overrated as being called great, but on Dallas Brady never would have gotten the chance to be over rated because he would have lost the starting job to Romo, on Dallas. On New England it may or may not have gone either way.


Greise isn't any better than Brady but he won out in Michigan. A truly great QB like Marino or Manning or Unitas is undeniable. You cannot out him at #2 or make him fight for the spot and call it close. If Manning was on Michigan, Greise would have been on the bench. And if Manning was on NE when they signed Brady, Brady never would have started a game in New England. That's what I mean when I say different levels between the two, and not just 'they're both great but one is better'. That's a great QB; the one that gets put at #1 no matter what. Manning could finish the season throwing 5 picks a game for the next 4 games and still sign the biggest contract in history at the end of the year. Brady throws 5 picks a game for the next 3 games and loses all of them and they need to win the final game or get eliminated and I'm telling you right now Bill will start wondering about Hoyer for that game. And certainly wouldn't jump to a big contact for Brady.

So with regards to Romo; what I'm saying is he's no worse than some of the top 5 QBs. And if Brees was not injured and the Cowboys took him and Payton dragged Romo along with him to New Orleans Romo would have a ring right now. Because as a QB Romo with Payton was getting the job done very early on. As a kick holder he needed work. That was a mistake on Parcells for not retraining a new holder earlier in the season. However if Romo had been drafted by the Lions he'd be a scrub right now looking for a home. Every QB that makes the league is a good QB. The difference between the good and the very good is luck most of the time. But the truly great ones shine no matter what. Win lose or draw you know the QB isn't the problem. No one ever talked about dumping Marino when times got bad.

On a side note; while researching a bit I realized that Manning was a small decision away from being in the 97 draft, but came back for the senior year. I know the Rams had the #1 pick from the Jets. I don't remember if it was a draft day trade or a trade from the year before. He was projected to go #1. As a Ram it's Manning's greatest show on turf. As a Jet it becomes interesting. Manning would have started the first year with Parcells, Bellicheck, Weis, Crennel, Mangini, and Todd Haley. They all defected when Parcells resigned. Now it makes you wonder whether Bellicheck would have pulled that stunt with NYJ if Peyton had been QB. They lost a pretty close, until the end, AFC Championship game in 98 to the Broncos. Do they win with Peyton instead of Vinnie? They certainly beat the Falcons if they do. Does Bill walk away from a Superbowl Winner? What could have been?


Bernie Williams had a 400 avg, 2HRs, and 10 hits with 5 RBIs in that series. Better numbers than Joltin Joe ever put up in the WS. CF wasn't the problem.  Rivers wouldn't have mattered either.

I could have played QB for the Bears on that day and still no team in history would have scored more than 10 points on that D on that day. So the INT return and the safety would have given us 9 points. So if all I did was hand the ball off all day we'd have gotten at least a few more FGs with the other turnovers and have won at the very least 18-10. And I'd have a ring, being the youngest QB in history, 3 years old, to win the big one.

The goal line was offside anyway so it's not like it was a guarantee FG try. I would have hated that last drive if I had picked Indy on the point spread. But I stayed away from that game. As much as the refs helped the Colts, Blair White helped the Titans. Does it really matter though? Does anyone think the AFC South winner stands a chance to win any playoff game?

Well that last score may not have been so easy if they weren't down by 9, and Indy had it's own bunch of miscues. I can't imagine Indy not winning out now. The only one that's iffy in my mind is traveling to Oakland. But the Jets better hope they pass NE in the standings because if they have to play in Indy for round 1, they'll lose. Then Indy will get killed traveling to NE, Pit, or Baltimore. I can see them somehow getting Baltimore to mess up but I cannot see any possible way Indy can in in Foxboro or Pittsburgh in January unless we get hit by a huge East coast January heat wave. We had one day here in Toronto in 06 or 97 where the day time high in late January was 21 degrees. That's about 70 degrees for you Americans. The Colts would need that to happen again.


P.S. Really fucked up day for me because it was so warm compared to the day before that it felt like a hot summer say. I left my house for a walk in shorts and Tshirt and went to my friend's apartment. He buzzed me up and thought I was playing a joke on him and that my winter gear was in a corner hidden. So he came out with me in full winter gear and then walked a few minutes before boiling up and we went back in so he could change. But while the high was 21, the low was below zero that night and it dipped in a hurry. I took me about 45 minutes to walk home, after a few stop at the mall and a store, and when I left his place it was still like 18 or 19. By the time I got home it was 3 or 4 degrees. And I could slowly feel it getting a lot colder as I walked.
