I think those four teams are a QB away from being contenders. Oak went 8-8 with Jason Campbell lol. That's 10-6 with Vince YoungSounds like some shit Al Davis would do...he likes giving guys second chances. But as a Raider fan...I'm good. Id rather see us give Campbell another year under the same system (hopefully Hue Jackson stays). He was productive playing for a fucked up team in Washington. And this year he had his moments where he looked very good. You can tell he was never able to get completely comfortable. It didnt help having Cable bench him a couple times. He needs to know its his team and go out there and play. If they are gonna go in another direction, I'm still good on Young. Dont want a guy who couldnt hold the respect of his own locker room. He's a basket case lol.

They need stability, even more so now that Cable is gone. Campbell was not impressive but one more year in the system with Hue Jackson, instead of Cable who was ready to pull him for Boller if he felt like it, could be good for Campbell's confidence. Cable really loved Gradkowski, who like Cable was way over his head for the job he had but had that fire to him that make people believe in him. That's great but that doesn't win Super Bowls. So maybe Campbell reaches his promise of college when he lead Aurburn to an undefeated season. Jackson I have no doubt will be the best Raider coach since Gruden. One more year of his system could finally allow Campbell and the Raiders to have some stability; which I think is much more important to the team than a QB upgrade at this point. If Cable stayed, then Jackson leaves and takes his offence too. Cable does not have his own system that he runs, he doesn't call plays well and he is more of a players coach. That's all good as long as you have a guy like Jackson with you who can call the X's and O's. So hopefully Jackson stays, Campbell is given the first chance since his sophmore year in college to play in a system two years in a row, and Vince Young finds a good home.I will not knock Young's personal problems, I think in the macho world of football, mental health is looked down at and this hurts the players who truly need help. Instead, dirt is thrown on their name and other teams see them as uncoachable. I hope Young finds a team that can work with him and offers a healthy environment that will allow him to shine, find that head coach who's like Phil Jackson in the NBA. But I know one think, Oakland has never been that place for a player like Young.
