:D  my man Curtis IS the only RB over age 30 to win the rushing title - that will never be done again with the way the NFL is headed (all the 2 RB systems + injuries)

Hey, I think you forgot the NFLs all time leading rusher.

But to answer the question, def. top 10, i'll say 5th because of the amount of TDs hes scored over his career

I hear you about the o line, etc.  Yeah he had a lotta help.

BUT, I don't really agree totally with that knocking him down a peg because look at Jerry Rice.  Did he not have great players around him, and you don't really hear people using that against him when people call him the GOAT.

Jim Brown maybe. He lead the league in rushing 8 times in the 9 seasons he played.
He retired at 29 with his final season of 1500 yards in the 14 game season, 17 TDs, with another 300 yards and 4 TDs in the air, started his career with back to back MVPs and then retired after his 3rd MVP. Is this even debatable? Best player in the history of the NFL.

And you put Curtis Martin ahead of him? This guy had 1500 yards at 29 years old with the next guy rushing for less than 900 yards. He would have most likely lead the league in rushing for the next 5 years, definitely the year he turned 30.

Yeah. I mean I definitely think emmit benefited from that o-line. He was averaging over 2 yards per carry before even being touched. He was very overrated. But I also hate how people are so quick to crown Jerry Rice the greatest WR ever. WR is the most dependant position on the field and Jerry had Montana and Young throwing the ball to him. He was great. But he SHOULD have been great. Compare that to what a receiver like Tim Brown did with QBs like Todd Marijuanavich and Jay Schroeder throwing him the ball

That was my issue with the 100 greatest. You could argue Ride the greatest WR no doubt. He could do it all, but if had been on the Bucs and had been just as good he would not have had 3 rings, woulkd not have lead the league in yards and TDs 6 times and if let's say Steve Largent or Art Monk had been the #1 in San Fran they may not have reached #1 player all time status but they may have been ranked just as high as where Rice ended up.

Where as Jim Brown was doing what every other back was doing, except he did it so much better he has to be the best.

Yeah, Jim Brown was a beast. I still have Sanders as the best running back ever. He was just insane....playing for a shitty Detroit Lions team. I can only imagine what he would have done with that Cowboy O-line that Emmitt got to run behind.

He would have done worse probably. People would respect the run so much that it would leave 9 in the box at all times, and Aikman would have looked like Marino and Manning combined.

There is no doubt he was great. But there have been a lot of great receivers that just happened to play with shit QB's or in systems that werent as receiver friendly as the Niners was.
