Question for white people
« on: December 31, 2002, 02:25:40 AM »
If you get offended by racist comments in rap, why listen. I listened to rap for many years, and I've neve been offended. Half the shit they say, coming from a minority point of view, makes sense. On this board, it seems that if a white person talks some stupit shit about race, 3/4 the board agrees, and they don't want to listen. A minority talks, and everyone argues and shit. Well I want to say this. You get offended by rap music, turn it off. They are making a point coming from a black point of view in the United States, and it must be true because as a Mexican/Native American who grew up poor and under the system, I see what they are saying. Remember, people don't say contraveral stuff unless they mean it, because record labels don't want to lose money. I think instead of being offended, that maybe you should try to understand. And if not, don't buy the CD, exchange it, and get something that will be kinder to your ears. The world is a very tuff, and real place, and lots of bad shit happends, even in the United States. People are expressing themselves after 300 years of slavery, and 140 years of opression, in which a whole community was reshaped. As I said, you can't take it, don't buy, so why complain?

Damn, that's deep.. and the truth..! I know what cha sayin..It's all about expression..Take dem concerts and live performeces, if they said this or that, they will be arrested..While hard-rockers be "pissin in the crowd" for years, and also screamed fuck this and that.. Even end 1900 they wanted to silence the black americans, so what you hear now is a logic result of underpression..

Racism is NEVER right. It doesn't matter from which side it comes (if u want to call it "side"), rather a white human talks shit like that or a black human! IT IS NEVER RIGHT. So for some ppl there might be a point to complain about.

I am white, I do listen to bands like Dead Prez, who have got some racist lyrics no doubt. But most of their reasons to be angry at white ppl are no bullshit, so I try to understand their anger... Plus, Rap lyrics are mostly exaggerated, no doubt! No u better don't trip...

I don't think u should only stop listining to it, if something is wrong, especially regarding racism, u should be allowed to discuss about it!

Well worded big dogg.

If a white boy walks through a black neighbourhood he gets looked at strange. So how can blacks complain when the same happens.

You see Dead Prez etc dissing white folk because of history etc but that has no relevance to them. Maybe the black man is Seriously jelous of the white man.

I myself have no problem pulling Black women or White, is that a reason to make records with Hatred to my race?

Hmm...

i dont really care..sometimes find it funny actually...only thing that bothers me is people whining like little bitches about shit that never happened to them and happend generations before them, and trying to make it seem like they have it rough just cause they're another race...or flipping out just cause eminem or another white person says nigga....eventhough its meant in no disrespect....
