lollipop would have been perfect for..........
« on: December 31, 2002, 06:58:46 PM »
soopafly's first single, i mean i love it how it is, but if you take out jayz and give soopafly another verse it would still be huge, but it would blow up a new artist.  you need a song like this to blow up it's original and bangin people would be like damn who's this soopafly cat, then his second single whatever it is would get airplay just cause his first single blew up.

see i think soopa will probably have a pretty nice single but it won't get much airplay cause he probably won't have anything that new and appealing for a first single.........dogghouse needs him to blow up or the record label really isn't shit except for snoop and a bunch of no names, this is there chance to cement a spot in the rap game i just hope the don't blow it!

It's a nice joint, but I can't see how it's original at all.
Snoop & Jiggas verses is pretty average to be them, and if Ja Rule had this beat for his first single, we would probably all say "Fuck Irv"..

But I see whatchu saying though, it's definately sellable material, suits good for the MTV-boppers.

agree
"One day Alice came to a fork in the road and saw a Cheshire cat in a tree. "Which road do I take?" she asked. "Where do you want to go?" was his response. "I don't know," Alice answered. "Then," said the cat, "it doesn't matter."

man i would defenitely say the beat was bangin no matter who had the single, and i'll be real i actually think irv gotti produces some ok tracks.  your right that snoop and jay z verses are average but soopa rocked it thats why if you had two soopa verses, and one snoop verse just for a big name on it, and nate doin the outro it would be huge.  and i can't get enough of the song the way it is especially the bitches "snoopy eww wee you so fly"!

sadly though, Snoop won't allow Soopafly to outshadow him, because in all honesty, Soopafly could have blown up 4 years ago with "Like it or not", but Death Row didn't/coldn't release it.  I feel sorry for Soopafly, he's a tight producer who should be producing a grip of songs, except Snoop wants to be a commercial giant, and Soopafly i guess ain't good enough for him.  Soopa should go out on his own label where he could drop whatever the fuck he wants to without the album being titled "Snoop Dogg presents..." and drop that g-funk instead of the C-funk that Snoop insists on releasing.

If it was "Vicious Flow", then yes, it would've been a good single for Soopa, cause at least he wouldn't have to share the spotlight with Snoop AND Jay-Z, and peeps would pay more attention to his skills.
I seriously hope Soopafly blows the fuck up. His tracks are way too smooth. He was the MVP on Doggystyle All-Stars (goes without saying), and he has potential to hit the mainstream. But of course, Snoop will want all the spotlight and that won't happen, as Young Kapone said

I dont think this track needs to be soopafly's first singel cuz he need to be original and drop an album wit new only new tracks and he doesn't need to do tha same thing bad azz did when he released go away as a singel and that track also featured on tha last meal.

we wasn't saying he should reuse the song, we were saying that that song shoulda just been on soopa's album as the first single

yeah the beat was tight, dont matta who would rap over it, the beat was ill, but soopafly needs to put one more verse onto 'giv it 2 me' and improve the hook of it abit n that should be his first single with a dope vid
