I mean beef is part of the hip hop culture... just cause you're the godfather of rap doesn't mean you're dissproof. the young gunz go at the elders all the time that's how they make their name, just like in Carlito's Way Benny Blanco kills Carlito who was once his idol after he felt slighted by Carlito's attitude.

in this case Mess, a vet in his own right (nowhere near the legendary status of Too Short but that's not the point) clearly said he didn't like how Short was supposedly talkin down on him so he went against him. it ain't like he did some blasphemous shit by going against Too Short, it's just a regular westcoast hip-hop beef.

Well if Too Short really did down talk on him then Mess has every right to diss Too Short. He didn't start it so it isn't his fault. C'mon its a normal thing to react when you get dissed.
