he's too smart for gangsta shit and i love what he do

Exactly.

I'm sick of gangsta rap 'cause at the end of the day those rappers aren't sayin shit about nothin I do in real life. It's like watchin a fictional movie...it sounds good but c'mon most of them aren't really doin it neither. K.Lamar rap about real shit with skill.

He's a good lyricist but just ain't quite on that dogg pound, gangsta rap level that I grew up loving. Where's that west coast gangsta shit these days...

Tha Hustle Boyz are advertised as "the new" Dogg Pound. They been working with Daz & Snoop since day one. (I think one of them is another cousin of Snoop's. (Yeah this guy has so many cousins in the industry it's unbelievable!) They even produced & featured on their early shit (Snoop as Niggaracci). Now whether they'll have the longevity & leave the legacy of Tha Dogg Pound remains to be seen, but they sure as shit are good, solo & duo & HBMG. They definitely following in the footsteps...

Lotta respect for Kendrick...I love Dr. Dre's production, his music in general but I consider myself a Dre fan to this day mainly cause back in the day during the Chronic, Doggystyle era, Dre was asked in an interview (I believe it was MTV), something to the effect of "was he a real gangsta??"...Dre replied something like, " I ain't no gangsta..I'm just trying to make me some money..Anybody don't like it, I'ma have to knock them out"...Baby faced Dre laughed after that and I knew then I could relate to him...You have to understand that then and even now, dudes was claiming "gangsta for real" and knew they was lying both in their raps and interviews....Nothing wrong with what Kendrick is doing today and of course he unlike Dre is a real dope lyricist.. I also loved the gangsta/g-funk era but fellas, we gonna have to get over it....Down the  road another Dre & Snoop, Eazy, NWA will emerge and probably bring it back cause all things in music come around and go around but for now, just enjoy a talent like Kendrick and move on.

Kendrick never claimed to be a gangsta, shit most real gangstas will tell you in a heart beat if you have a better way and don't have to get into this shit DON'T!!!!  It is a lot of cats from Compton, South Central, Watts, Long Beach etc. that aren't bangers can you believe that???  That doesn't mean he doesn't know bangers or have bangers in his family but dude know his lane and I respect him for not trying to be something he is not.....

Kendrick is like an early Ice Cube... from the street, grew up around gangsters and just reports what he's seen in his life in his music.
