Props to darlyb for passing this one over from ananova.
Burt Bacharach is teaming up with hip hop star Dr Dre for a series of collaborations.

The 74-year-old star says he's working on samples sent to him by the controversial producer/rapper.


Bacharach is best known for penning 60's love songs for the likes of Dionne Warwick, Cilla Black and Sandie Shaw.

He told The Sun: "He gave me these drum beats and told me to do what I like.

"These won't be like usual songs. These are like compositions, which is very interesting to me."

Our guess is its for the Dre's long running pet project and final solo album. The so called hip-hopera Detox.

interesting news. Burt Bacharach has made some pimped out shit in his time, he's one of those timeless songwriters that just writes classic shit. I'm looking forward to seeing what comes of this collaboration

Man, thank god Dre is deciding to look outside of hiphop a little bit.  Burt Bacharach is awesome.  His last name starts with "Bach" I mean, come on.  LOL.
