Well, folks, today is the big day.  The day the Chiefs break their 20 year run without a playoff victory.  The last playoff win for the Chiefs was when Montana shredded Buddy Ryans 46 defense in a big win over the Houston Oilers to get the Chiefs to the AfC championship game.  Then Bruce Smith knocked Montana out and the rest was history.

Not that the Chiefs haven't had some good teams in between.  Marty had another 13-3 team in 97, when out kicker missed 3 field goals that caused us to lose to Harbaughs Colts.  Vermiel also had a 13-3 team with Trent Green and Tony Gonazalez and lost in a game with no punts, against.... you guessed it... The Colts.

Today the streak ends... 8). Go Chiefs!

How do you score 38 points in the first 31 minutes and only 6 in the last 29 minutes? What a disaster.

But here is what killed the Cheifs; they decided to play pre-vent D without keeping a safety deep. So all they did was let guys run open and run deep. That last TD to Hilton was disgraceful.

Choke job.  Almost as bad as the 1992 Houston Oilers.  I had an eerie feeling that the chiefs woulda blown it.  Even when it was 38-10 at early 3rd quarter.  I took a nap happy that the dolts were gonna lose & get blown out....BUT  >:(

I didn't know Marty Shottenhiemer was still coaching the Chiefs.  We used to experience heartbreak like this every year in the 90's.

Got to give props to Rieds playcalling and the performance of Alex Smith.  Alex really put the team on his back. 

I don't want to talk about what went wrong because its too depressing.  Maybe Shallow can provide some more good analysis for why Luck looked like Manning on steroids in the second half.


...anyway, when does royals season start?
