lol.. your trying to take me back to my sophmore year of highschool... Master P fuccing took over the whole damn music industry, here in the midwest that was like the only shit my homies were listening too.....  That was during that odd transition where I was trying to figure out what hip-hop was outside in a post-Death Row world.... and I listened to a lot of wack shit in those days... I have to say Master P was probably the best of the wack, if there is such a thing.  He kind of had a movement...

Funny how I stumbled on P was actually in buying the Dogg Pound single "Nuttin But A Cavi" hit and that P banger... "IS THERE A HEAVEN FOR A GANGSTA, GANGSTA!!! UHHHH!!!!" was on the back and I was like holy shit who is this?? Then about 6 months later "I'm Bout It" movie/soundtrack kind of took hold amongst the kids that were into rap, then by the time Ghetto D came out Master P was the trend and everyone was bumping No Limit.  I remember parties at my homies house and some of us had just gotten our liscence and getting into drinking (unfortunately) and we were partying hard to Ghetto's Trying to Kill Me.

You took me back dawg...

Bay Area classic  8)

I must admit I prefer 99 Wayz to Die, and of course TRU's True, but this album is excellent as well, and you posted the hardest cut, Anything Goes is probably my favorite song off the album. These Hoez Jack is among my favorite albums too.

the only problem with P was the C-Bo and Spice 1 jocking, it was too damn obvious. but the production team (K-Lou, E-A Ski & CMT, Larry D, Al Eaton) was at the top of their game.

Some of his best songs from his Bay Area days are on Ice Cream Man, too : 1-2 on a bag of weed, How G's Ride, Sellin Ice Cream,

I had those early No Limit albums when all my friends told me it was wack.
When No Limit start blowing up.
those same people start bumping it.

For me the last good album was ghetto D.
After that most Nl releases was in my opinion garbage.

Back to the album you mentioned.
It is a shame King George left NL before it became big.
He has some real talent.

Yeah we weren't bumping "Ghetto's Tryin To Kill Me" when it was first released.  Like I said... I didn't discover P until the B Side of "Nuthin But A Cavi".  But after Ghetto Dope dropped at the end of the summer in 97' then No Limit had taken over and we were bumping everything No Limit had, "Ghetto's Tryin To Kill Me" and Ice Cream Man too was an older album everybody was bumpin like new

that Whodini sample is classic ! Sean T used it in 96 for Pimp Lyrics & Dollar Signs, and Snoop in 98 for Da Game Of Life with Steady Mobbin, Sean T's song is the best IMO but P's still knocks.

no.. that was the worst time in my life, I was a fuccin worthless idiot then who didn't do jack shit... its like the saying "you are what you eat".  Whatever you put in your body through the various pathways- mouth, ears, eyes, etc... eventually manifests itself and I was filling myself with a lot of garbage those days because I wasn't a conscious person
