I don’t understand how albums from 20 years ago still have strong reply value, but modern albums don’t. I so wanted to like this and I do think it’s good but just don’t understand what’s changed. I do wish the Dre song was mixed better

It doesn't remind you of what Dr. Dre's Detox is suppose to sound like?

Just wrapped up my first listen!

1. Play this at my funeral 4.25/5

2. Everywhere I go ft. Dem Jointz 4.5/5
This beat is so west coast hard.

3. Been a long time ft. Jenn Emm 3.5/5

4. The Moment ft. Busta Rhymes & Problem 4/5 - Busta sounds incredible over this beat. Wish Problem sung the hook.

5. Earth Is Over 3.5/5. A little too low-key but Xzibit SPITTIN' on here.

6. Leave Me Alone ft. Dr. Dre & TY Dolla $ign 4.5/5 LOVE THIS. Dre sounds great! Ty$ floating. Xzibit verse incredible. Beat is simple but still dope.

7. Belly of the Beast ft. Problem 4.25/5 THAT'S HARD! Problem & X great on here.

8. History 3.75/5 Hard + nice album cut.

9. Genesis - 3.75/5 Another stellar album cut.

10. Perfect Alibi ft. Stalone 3.25/5. Not a big Stalone fan. Not a bad song, but might be the worst song on the album.

11. American Idol ft. Symba 4/5. Symba is a dope up&coming rapper. This is a nice record.

12. Crash ft. Royce Da 5'9 & K.A.A.N. 4/5. X did this verse on the Justin Credible freestyle. It's dope though. KAAN goes from Missonary to Kingmaker! Royce always drops a dope verse.

13. For the Love ft. Ice Cube 4.25/5. X & Cube! Dope beat & verses. Hook isn't great, but not bad.

14. Shut yo Mouth ft. Compton AV & Butch Cassidy 4.5/5. Battlecat did this thing! This is west coast FUNK. Arguably the best song on the album.

15. Higher ft. Redman & B-Real - 4/5. Solid weed joint. Redman + B-Real are perfect features.

16. Success N/A more of an interlude.

17. Notified ft. King T & Cold 187um - 4.25/5. We really getting another album from King T the legend? He still sounds incredible. Great beat as well. A final king T album sounding like this would be great.

18. What you like ft. Guapdad 4000 & Daygo Fatts 3.75/5

19. End of the Day ft. Domo Genesis & Tre Capital 4/5

20. Kingmaker 3.5/5

Man a disappointment to the weekend for me, first Snoop and now this. I  Didn’t like the album on first listen and it didn’t really flow that well - just seems a bit of a mish mash of tracks that felt a little average and doesn’t flow so well. Maybe I’ll warm up to it after a few more spins.

Shit happens. Dont worry. We can't remember every fucking lyric in history. That song is one of favorite Xzibit jointz. So it popped up so quick in my memory.

Missionary from Snoop failed (not bad, not so great, under expextations but the best we have this year somehow)

Man down from Cube failed

Kingmaker from Xzibit failed

Another trash album from snoop failed

I'm sad to see my heroes dropping wack albums.

What's your biggest gripe with Xzibit? For me, its too song structured but it sounds great (9.5/10) because every beat reminds me of something I'd hear from Aftermath around 2007 - 2010. The West Coast really needs something strong to push it back to dominance, because these artists with having little to no commercial appeal have no reason not to put out something wack. Makes me think of Ice Cube. Everyone including you is entitled to their opinion but....

Kingmaker >>>>>>>> Missionary (Times Ten)

The problem with Kingmaker is beats i think. No song made me say "wow" or made me want to listen to it again. Also sound and production wise album is so messy. For example shut yo mouth might be the best song on the album but it doesnt sound like it belongs to this album.

Missionary has some bangers like "hard knocs", "mary jane", "thank you" ... production wise its not messy. Intro, tracks, outro everything starts and end in a smooth way. Yes i agree missionary is under expectations but doper than anything snoop and dre made in last 10 years. I listened to missionary many times, even instrumentals... but kingmaker i dont think i will replay any song from it in future.
