All these 90s rappers coming back with new albums recently or in the near future like X, Snoop, Cube, Redman, The DPG, etc. has me really wondering how long a rapper can have a career. One would think the braggadocious nature of rap music would dictate that it's a young man's game. But from all reports I've been reading, it's the rappers that existed prior to streaming took over are the ones making the most money by selling the most albums, tickets, and merch. Like Gen X and Y are used to spending money on music, whereas Gen Z and now Gen Alpha just don't respect rap or any music as a art form because they're used to it being free or nearly free on streaming services and/or only consumed in 15 to 30 second clips on social media.

But what I'm getting at basically is, how many more albums do you think like X or Snoop have in them at their ages before they call it career? They seem to still be making money at it, whereas so many new rappers/musicians are struggling because streaming doesn't pay jack shit unless you're like at the level of like a Taylor Swift.

Now would be a wise time to invest in other portfolios than music., Its not looking good especially with streaming having no competition.
