Well, I was 12 years old when The Chronic came out, so I don't know if you think I'm too young to realize it....But I heard "Dre Day" "Let me ride" "G thang" "Gin & juice" and "Doggy dogg world" all the time on the radio and I NEVER considered that mainstream or pop.  What I'm saying is that "Beautiful" DOES NOT SOUND WEST COAST.  It sounds pop and mainstream.  I'm not saying just because a track gets airplay it is mainstream...because that's not the case.

Yes they do, but you gotta understand that back when Snoop was HOT, his music was very mainstream and other artists tried to mimic the sound the westcoast was bringing because it was hot at the time. Those artists were able to get a little more recognition then. Now, the westcoast sound is nothing, so west coast artists have to have THE HOT producers on their album to help sales....nothing different

Thats pretty dope IMO that Snoop made the top 40. Its noty a bad thing for Snoop to be considerd mainstream...What do you expect?  Hes been making classic material for over a decade now while touring around the world and selling millions of records...Of coarse hes mainstream, as are all of your other favorite rappers like Dr. Dre, Eminem, Jay Z and the list goes on...Snoop being in the top40 doesnt really suprise me that much.  And how does making good timeless music make you sell out?  Snoop still rolls with the same crew, same homies, Represents the same hood and shit....Selling out??Naw,Id sayin doin' it real Big!
