Jay had one classic and its bluprint. Also snoop had one classic and its doggy style. But jay overall had betyer discography. Also i dont like jay z, he is way overated. But he had a grate run, good business moves, ja, dmx, dipset, kanye. Snoop lacking on that side.

Blueprint, Reasonable Doubt & Kingdom Come are the only Jay albums I'd listen to. Kingdom Come is a great album. Jay is defo hailed as a great rapper because of one or two releases though, there are dozens if not hundreds of others I'd rather listen to.

Not only Dre, but all the the others producers made the album a real banger. Just Blaze, Kanye West, DJ Khalil.

The album titled track is bananas. Just Blaze kills the beat.

Probably the replay value. If I recall this was his comeback album after his brief retirement. It was a let down compared to the Black Album.

All about taste and preferences,  to me there is less fillers on the Black Album. Then again I am a fan of the soul samples.

True, Hov is tripping when he calls it his worst. It's not only that he has way worse albums than Kingdom Come, but also the album is pretty good itself. Dre's and Just Blaze contributions were insane.

But Black Album is anything but overrated. Extremely great project and probably his best/second best.

…funny, and all these years I actually thought you had good taste in music

And somebody on here made the point about revisionist history and Jay-Z.  Like it’s often said that Jay’s first album was his best.  People that were big into hiphop in 96’ and remember what it was like will know that that album was nothing more than just another album on the shelf in those days.  Nobody was saying Jay was great or that the album was classic back then.

It’s all great marketing, revisionist history, and sheeple followers propelling Jay
